*** Mass Effect 3 ***

It's time they could have spent on the standard edition. Meaning, more quests, content, ect... So yeah, in a way cynical. If you do the maths it's 25% on top of the full game. In the same vein, wouldn't you have preferred 25-30% extra content?

just remember its coz of buying DLC that mass effect 3 isnt on steam:(

The reason it isnt on steam is so EA can make more money from sales and so they can control content.

Further to this it is so they can develop there own gaming platform and make money from other distributors titles..like Steam..just more expensive

If it was on steam i probably would get it, just finished the demo on xbox and it was quite good although to many cut scenes for my liking :P

Thats all very nice, but there is something to be angry about here.

The 'From Ashes' dlc is a massive part of the lore, and any fan who has played the previous games would want to play it. However, if you have not already ordered the game and you want to play it complete, you only have 2 options

1. Buy the N7 edition for £55
2. Buy Standard Edition for £30 and then the dlc on release for about £8.

This content has already been made, it is only not in the game so that they can charge more for it. If you buy the standard edition you do not get the whole game!

Like I said, this is pretty common in the software industry. There is a complete package and there packages which are based on the complete one but where functions are removed so that they can be sold at a lower price. You want the full Mass Effect 3 Edition with all features included? That costs £55. From your viewpoint that would be the standard edition.

For the DLC that should have been in ME2's main story/Free, while I bought ME2 on Steam, the DLC I didn't pay for.
Lair of the shadow broker for example, while I haven't yet gone through it, it's quite a massive story arc.

So you pirated the DLC then? or you did buy some of it?, either way what ever point you may have been making has become mute really as you have become one of the reasons it happens.

Moving on

The simple facts are if you dont like it dont buy it and by that i mean the whole game not just the DLC, you hear it all the time vote with your wallet, however when it comes down to it, the keyboard warrior elite will cave and buy the game on mass.

I fully belive EA will back peddle as they have over every game in the last few years,

However!

Piracy is never the answer to the problem only the weak of will / people justifing breaking the law use that line, simple as really,

It's "moot point" and "en masse".

You could argue that buying the game and ignoring the DLC(I do regularly) goes some way to letting them know there is something up. If it's a perceived lack of content for the asking price, or business strategy. I'm not sure how downloading something less than legally when you had no intention of paying for it is compounding the current DLC "problem".

Are you saying that by not purchasing the DLC you are forcing them to make more? I may have missed the point.

EDIT: ps the corrections weren't meant to be rude or condescending.

Really, so why make them? shows the measure of the person, thought i was doing well on me phone.

You did not say you did not purchase, you said you "did not pay for" but you went on to play Shadow broker but not finshed it yet, so did you buy DLC or just steal it, so your point of "I know i was not the one that let it happen" makes no sense at best. As people buying DLC makes them make more, the other angle for DLC is to make money back due to the theft of the game.

I was helping out, nothing more. If you were less defensive and insecure(not your problem alone, hence my damage control edit) you would embrace being wrong. It means that you've learned something. This is good.

I think you've mixed up some posts/posters here and in the process not answered my question.... or have you!?

Your right, i have mixed posts up to which i'm sorry, the business i work for suffers greatly to piracy and it makes me see red, in fact i nearly lost my job over it last year, yep nobody thinks about the poor people who lose jobs over it, hence my comments about it. My last post was really looking at someone else in the rage i fired off at you which again im sorry.

Really must stop doing this on the phone,

Guys chill out a little. If the price is too high, people buy less and pirate more.
Good example is excellent price on ALAN WAKE, thanks for Remedy for great price. Doubt if the price would be 40Ł or so, that sell numbers would be so good.

I won't preorder ME3, will wait a little.

Just following this thread makes me feeling as if I have to purchase multiple pieces of the game from multiple sources just to experience the normal single player game.

That's about the size of it. Though it does seem to have less of the shopping list of DLC that DA2 had. I can live with them ruining that last great great tactical party RPG, but I will never forgive them for making me play Dragon Age:Legends on Facebook.

By not buying the DLC that has massive implications in the game I'm one of those allowing this DLC to happen, come again?

I'm fine with cosmetic DLC, or maybe an extra bonus mission with no implication on the game furthermore (Such as in a sequel)

I haven't even pirated the DLC, but if I was to use the DLC in future, it'd either be at a really low price (Lol at that happening though) or not paid for by me.

I also don't care for the black and white opinion of ; Buy it or don't, it's not that simple.

Also, to elaborate on the "Haven't bought/haven't played". People will regularly buy stuff, but might not have have played through it yet (Like most of my Steam list) I figured I'd simply say I haven't paid/bought it, as well, I haven't.

Of course it is. And everyone actually acts like this - at least when it comes to non-essential things like games. You ask what you get, you ask for the price, and if the thing you get is worth the price you have to pay you buy it.

And if you don't buy it there is the option of pirating it. Those who would never consider pirating anything will not do it of course. Those who always pirate won't buy it anyway. Those who sometimes pirate and sometimes buy will probably pirate it if the price is too high.
