Geez some people are really overreacting!! its only a video game and EA/bioware are not forcing people to buy the aditional DLC, its not like the standard game is like 5 hours long and you have to buy the dlc to finish the game! If you want more content you have to pay for it!

This thread should be for like minded people who wanna talk about mass effect not come on here to have to read people winging about dlc and saying ea people should loose there jobs and that their forfitting EA from now!! Go start a seperate thread and move all your complaining and negativity over to it!!! :) Let us mass effect fanboys enjoy getting excited about the game!!

Rant over!! :)

Oh yeah, here's this piece of DLC which is going to be massively interesting to serious Mass Effect fans, we're releasing it on day 1 but don't you worry, we aren't forcing you to buy it.

But surely thats the case for any DLC? any of it is going to be interesting to fans of the series?

Agreed.

I'm a mahoooosive fan of the series and I'm going to buy the Collectors edition. Not really because of the DLC but because of the other cool stuff you get with it.

I played ME2 three times all the way through without DLC then on then before the fourth playthrough I bought all the DLC and enjoyed the game again. Even if I didn't buy them I'd still enjoy it.

Some people will buy the game and it will be their first in the series, so imo the DLC will go unoticed by them. Of course there are big fans like me that will only get the standard edition without day 1 DLC, which is quite upsetting for them.

But this thread should be for the lovers of the game. There's been barely any talk about the actual content and more about boycotting it.

It's a day 1 DLC about a major part of the game (protheans), it's greedy and not respectable at all.

The whole reason most people are hacked off is they do love the games and hate the way they're being milked for it.

Totally agree. I have preorderd the special editon because I wanted all the extra Items and have obviously paid more for that priviledge. If you could not complete the game without this dlc made then i would understand but it is just extra content that exspands the game. Just like the shadow broker dlc, that added lots of extra information but you had to pay for it. I dont think it makes a difference if the dlc is released at the start or at the end, its extra content so you should pay extra?

Bioware have said that they made the dlc after the game had finished so its not like they have just taken a chunk out of the main story and have forced people to buy it. People shoud be happy that on top of the 40hr play through that can be played
through mulitple times in many different ways they are creating even more montent on top of that!

More the better i say :)

So now that the boycotting talk has (hopefully) passed, a bit of new game information.

It seems the game is around 40 hours long with the main quest being between 15 - 20 hours and includes 90 minutes of cutscenes. A bit more info here: http://www.incgamers.com/News/30612/mass-effect-3-is-40-hours-long-main-quest-is-15-20-hours

Not too bad of a length, about on par with ME2.

Was reading that earlier, sounds music to my ears!! cant wait!! Still trying to find out if the game supports direct x 11 and 3d vision
