*** Mass Effect 3 ***

Oh there is no real chance of me canceling my order tbh. At the end of the day I am a Massive Mass Effect fan and I have been looking forward to this game for ages. The most I will do is not buy any dlc:p

....The more we hear though!:(

Maybe you could compromise and not open it right away? :) Unless of course you are getting it from Origin.

Anyone here ordered on Origin? If so has your copy showed up in your games list yet? Mine hasn't.
Yeah I have, and it hasn't showed up in the list yet. Same with quite a few people from what I've read and communicated with.

I guess it will show up when preloading begins.

Bioware forums, in the spoiler section.

Sad to say my, curiosity got the better of me & i went & had a quick browse round Bio's spoiler forums, there pretty much working themselves into one hell of a nerd rage over the endings.

On the plus side, i didn't look too closely so i'm still thoroughly in the dark atm, & i intend to stay that way for the next 8 days at least. :p

Same here, I'm not going to read something then get worked up over it. I'm hoping when I actually play out the endings I'll enjoy it and have a good experience with it.

Marketing > Developers.

Developers want paying that extra bonus? They'll do what the marketing dept. want.

I suspect the trend will carry on (i.e. splitting a game into constituent parts) until fan rage reaches a critical mass - at the moment, it's just bubbling nicely, but nothing will come of it.

In a couple of years, we'll probably see the reverse trend, but the whole world is going for the Ryanair model of paying for a core product and then getting charged for everything else on top (sum of the parts is greater than the whole, etc.). People will realise what they've lost in terms of "atmosphere" in that core product (i.e. Mass Effect 1 vs. 2/3) when game publishers take it too far.

Screwing with little bits of peripheral DLC in ME2 wasn't so bad - only SBL and Arrival were 'quasi critical' to the story in terms of what they added - but we'll see how 'From Ashes' and all the other jazz pans out.

Personally, I can't wait.

So...those of you who haven't cancelled pre-orders, where's the cheapest place for the plain old regular edition? I might buy the DLC on release, but it would just be buying that. Not bothered about all the extra stuff in the digital deluxe edition.

Cheapest i've seen so far is Amazon for just under £30. Any where else cheaper?

Don't blame us then when Mass Effect 4 is available only in several DLC chunks with the final chapter split into two (Hey, it worked for Harry Potter and Twilight) for maximum profit.
