Mass Effect: Andromeda Thread

I agree with these guys really.

I'm not dismissing what other people say about the bad points though as they're plain to see which is a bit of a downer because the voice acting and animations were some of the best bits from ME 1.2,3. Will have to wait and see.

I don't know what all the fuss was about. I've just finished the first mission and am thoroughly enjoying it. As much as I'll miss my FemShep from the first three games I think this'll be a good reintroduction to the Mass Effect universe. Looking forward to playing some more.

I'm about 6 hours into my trial and I am also loving it. I love how open it feels now, although it does make the combat a bit harder, but feeling like you can actually explore planets and it beingmore open world is really nice. I just hope there's some interesting planets with cool things to discover after EOS, which feels a bit barren.

The facial animations are a bit crap I know, but the rest of the game is amazing. I also like Scott's voice acting, Shephard was always very wooden sounding, so it's nice to have a main character with some decent personality to his voice.

The game does seem a bit glitchy though, had some floating characters, and then this, Liam was 'alive' technically, but he was just dead on the ground and gliding about.

Also tried the multiplayer briefly and it was really damn fun, never played the multiplayer in the other games as I only played/completed ME2 and ME3 in the last few weeks.

Hmm kicking this into the long grass for now and playing The Last of Us Remastered instead.

I'll wait until there's more content/DLC and a good deal then revisit the idea of getting this.

Bioware makes me sad thinking back to Kotor, NWN, DA:O and ME1/2.

I'd like to leave it until it's dropped in price but I don't want to miss out on any of the multiplayer events which I hope they will have each weekend as in ME3.

With digital downloads you have 1 source of purchase and they hold ALL the cards, with phycical discs you can always look for deals. Who has ever seen digital download less than RRP on launch? I haven't, but I've seen plenty of games much cheaper on discs at launch.

Well at some point you two are going to have to get used to it. Might be 10 years, might be 20 years but at somepoint the consoles will move to download-only, just as PC mostly is these days. Heck, it might even be streaming only like PS Now.

I've fully embraced digital only on the xbox one, only problem, it's made me impulsive, currently got 108 games installed :P

I used to only buy digital when the pound was stronger and you could get games from the US store for about £35, but it's not worth it now. I'm not paying £60 for a digital game when I can get a physical copy for £40.

you're nuts paying more for digital with NO RESELL VALUE. geeze.

Not really. I rarely ever sell games and now I get to have a big collection without annoying the wife, plus I don't need to disc swap.

Edit. On topic, game downloaded, lets see how it is.

It seems the reviews will be published tomorrow so we will get a better idea of how the game is overall. I can certainly live with the issues that have been identified so far and a lot of the videos i have seen on the early access content is positive although they accept the game has flaws. If its scoring 6's im going to be concerned but either way I won't be cancelling my preorder.

Feel free to add me on PSN(in sig) if you're buying on that platform as if all goes well i will be playing a fair bit of MP when its released.

Been playing the single player for about 3 hours (just got the rover), and also just tried the multiplayer for about an hour.

I've never played the multiplayer in a ME game but I think it's great! The single player is great too, very similar to ME3 but that's no bad thing.
