****MASS EFFECT : ANDROMEDA****

Your omni-tool - the thing on your arm - uses minerals, etc to make ammo for your weapons apparently, so that's what is really in the boxes.

It's mentioned somewhere in-game, but I can't remember where exactly.

Hmmm. Okay. A bit hokey if you ask me.

I'm getting a bit more in to it. There is a hell of a lot of poorly designed busy work though. I thought they would have learned from Dragon Age Inquisition. You have to go back to your ship to do some really basic things. Why is there only one terminal that can get your email? Why can't you equip weapons you pick up? Do I really have to go all the way back to the big station thing just to hear one line of dialogue etc.

If somebody had invented the smartphone, the ME universe would be infinitely more efficient!

I really hope they patch the additional tasks to show on the map. It's annoying having pages and pages of tasks on each planet, but you're not given any clue where to go. Nobody got time for scanning every inch of the map.

I have done a couple of planets now. Tbh, I don't see any motivation to go back anywhere. It's just driving around in silence to the next shootout I started the settlement on Eos and haven't been back since and don't really want to.

It really is remarkable how they have managed to make exploring a new galaxy so uninteresting and mundane!

Think I'm done. I might revisit it someday, but I find playing it quite sad tbh. Could have been so much better, but they didn't learn anything from DA:I, if anything it is even more tedious.

I find that my squadmates barely talk to each other, and when they do they are always cut off by an annoying message like 'you can scan here!' or something, and the banter doesn't restart after it. That is very basic, and should just be better. It makes all of the travelling even more boring.

It does sound like people who pick it up cheap in a future sale (like me) will also get the best version of the game.

We'll probably be in the thread in 3 months, wondering what all the harsh criticism was about :D

If you ignore the tedius scan and MMO style quests. Do only the main stuff and the loyalty missions. The game is pretty good and the combat is really impressive too.

Yeah I saw that. No DLC then.

I'd rather they let the franchise die tbh. They obviously don't know how to grow it, and I doubt they are capable.

It is hardly a surprise after playing Andromeda for 15 hours. They have no fresh ideas, and nothing interesting to bring to the series. It is painfully obvious the series is done.

There will be DLC, all that stuff is already made/cut out from the original game. I bet that during the "idea" phase of a games development they are already planning DLC.

Well that's a shame even with it's flaws it was still an enjoyable playthrough for me and it was a decent start to another trilogy / series.

Well I cant help but think if they had took a little more time polishing the apparent bugs and improving the universe/character at release ,they wouldn't be in this position because the animation glitches that every one sent viral totally put a lot of people off the game before even giving it a chance which must have hurt sales pretty bad
The ending was definitely set up for a follow up game (avoiding spoilers) and it would have been interesting to see where the story went from there, but as with a lot of games now its mostly sales driven...
Myself I thought it was enjoyable overall but as I've said before the slow start building up to the main story was gut wrenchingly disappointing.

This rates as the most disappointing game of the year, imo. Not that it's utterly terrible, it's just not anywhere near what it should / could have been.
