Masterchef: The Professionals

the last few seconds of the program where they show a few highlights of the next episode was quite telling,.. someone getting moody and throwing his toys out the pram again :/

MIGHT AS WELL GO HOME NOW :D

Not seen much of El Cellar.. looks like it's a cross between El Bulli and Mugaritz.

Ash looks very good, I actually think he's probably almost at the level they're looking for.

Steve's attitude is all wrong.

I really liked Steve to start with, he definately stood out from the other contestants in his early shows and he deserves to be in the final; his starter yesterday looked absolutely incredible; a shame his cheese was overpowering (fnar) but it was a real wow dish as far as we can experience via the television! :p

He just hasn't progressed as much as the others however, and his poor attitude in times of stress is not excusable; he is young but in this respect is being shown up completely by Claire.

A massive advantage over Steve, and one thing that evens up her chances with Ash is that Roux loves Claire to pieces - he sees something in her that really excites him, and I don't think it's purely related to la saucisse de Gavroche. Her cooking is developing, and although at a great standard when she first came on scene - she's progressed and developed already, with her outputs not only being great, but also to the tastes of Roux.

Not many contestants would be stopped in their tracks, advised of a mistake they're making and then get away with producing something different to their intentions 'because it tastes great'; many would be penalised heavily, but the potential of Claire is worth unleashing to Roux as she clearly works well with constructive aid and a damning critique could risk throwing a young mind off track entirely.

Ash has been almost flawless and in my opinion really doesn't need the show in terms of talent - if he continues in remotely the same vein then he will exit, winner or not, to a series of work offers or a queue of people willing to pay and promote his inevitable Michelin Star.

Looks like precious Steve has another paddy in the next episode. They showed him slamming a tray down and getting all fussy.

I agree with what Jingo said about Ash. Where has this man been and how did nobody notice his talent already? Michelin star inevitable.

Yep Agree with Jingo too.

I could see Claire being offered a job by Roux and the same goes for Ash, although I'm pretty sure there would be many top restaurants after someone with Ash's ability.

Steve's attitude is all wrong and while he's a good chef, he hasn't improved as much as Claire, and he's not near Ash in terms of an over all product.

i missed last nights and will miss tonights so double bill when i eventually get home tonight.

The guest chefs were getting pretty involved in the challenge the contestants were doing.

Must be obsessive perfectionists.

"AAARGH he did it wrong, must fix it "

Was it just me who thought the desserts looked pretty rubbish compared to the starters and mains? They looked stunningly beautiful - the desserts, especially Steve's, looked like a smush on a plate to me. Maybe just me though.

The blown sugar apricot was blooming amazing though!

I understand in fine dining that its more about the presentation and taste rather than amount but the starter of chopped squid on mash served on clingfilm with smoke could have been eaten in one tablespoon.

The blown sugar peach/apricot was stunning but calling candy floss anything other than candy floss gets a .
