Mattresses - I need knowledge

Get an adjustable that comes with loads of spare foam, I got one from Amazon and it's been amazing for my neck, wish I knew sooner I must have been through 10 pillows in the last few years and it turns out all I needed was adjustable and your u can have it exactly as you want it, got loads of spare foam too so when it starts to be less supportive just add more

Thanks for the advice. Any chance you could link me to the one your using?

@Muso @Valo

Mine was a Pillowly shredded memory foam pillow from Amazon but can't find it on there now so not sure why that is I've had it a year but there are alternatives that look similar
Thanks, I've got a Simba pillow which is like that but I can't get on with it. I prefer a solid memory foam slab. I'm currently using the Otty pillow which is quite firm and I'm happy with the height....I think.....

Question for other John Ryan mattress owners: did you find yourself making a dip in early on? They call it settlement, to me it feels like I'm lying in a dip. Apparently it's totally normal but I can't remember this happening with my previous pocket sprung mattress, but that had a pillow top.
I've used it for two weeks so was a bit surprised this is happening but John Ryan have said it's completely normal and to try to sleep on different parts of the bed and flip it around etc. It's still comfortable, I'm just a bit concerned.

Apparently the mattress has to sag by 2.5 inches to be covered by warranty when out of the trial period which seems like a lot to me.

i think mine did similar, I think the fluffy top layer on my origins 1500 settled as I slept when new but after 7 years with it and regularly turning it no longer has a dip, I guess the settlement where I sleep levelled out from turning (2-3 months) the mattress.

Big thread so I’ve not gone all the way through.

I stay at Premier Inns regularly and I’ve always slept well in their beds. My wife and I had a few days away recently and she experienced one of their beds for the first time and she really liked it.

Has anyone bought the entire Premier Inn bed and mattress combo? We’d be looking at the Super King bed/base with drawers which works out at £1280.

I’ve read comments that say the topper is fixed so it potentially gives the mattress a shorter than normal lifespan but is this realistic? Is it just other companies trying to point you at their products which they consider superior?

Bottom line here - anyone bought a Premier Inn mattress and are you happy with it?

No but but I have heard from friends they don't last as long as you think as far as the premier inn feel. I would honestly go with John Ryan myself and numerous friends have them and are more than happy with them. We've had ours for about 3 years now and its still like it was when we bought it.

Our Simba is approaching 3 years old and it has dipped considerably, more than I would expect since it is regularly rotated.

I feel like I bought into baseless hype with this level of mattress - Simba, Emma, Eve, Nectar, Otty etc....

OK, so what's the closest John Ryan equivalent to a Premier Inn mattress/bed? Our Super King mattress is on a kingsize wooden bed frame so it overhangs the edge (yes, I know) which is why I'm looking at a complete new bed, mattress and base.

I honestly can't answer that, but if you ring John Ryan they will happily advise. After I ordered they spent 30 mins on the phone to me asking loads of questions to make sure I had chosen the correct mattress.

When I ordered they had a no quibble 120(?) day return including pickup costs. Certainly worth a phone call.

Yeah I'm not overly impressed with our Simba tbh. Contacted them a while back and they wanted pictures from each side, which is impossible in our bedroom
