This thread was ‘Everybody Draw Mohammed Day’. Imo it should have been closed at the end of that day. It was a good 2 fingers up to those who hide behind religion as an excuse for violence.

The subsequent bickering although entertaining, should be in a new Islam thread.

as long as i fulfill my duties as a muslim and as a parent thats all that matters to me.

Not one to get involved in anothers parenting etc etc but don't you mean fulfil your duties as a parent. Why differentiate between the two? Are you saying that to bring a kid up as a muslim isn't necessarily a good idea so you have to bring parenting skills in to counteract the negative effects of the muslim religion and of islam.
The great thing about christianity is it ties in perfectly with a good upbringing of your children, the two pretty much go hand in hand so all you have to be is a good and responsible parent and you pretty much bring them up with good christian values. I was assuming this might be the same for muslims being a religion and all, though not necessarily islamification thats a bit backward.

Christian values? Please elaborate.

Personally (i have a 6year old and a 2 year old) i will not teach religion as fact to them. We'll teach them that some people believe xyz but to have an open mind. I couldn't in all honesty sit with my daughter and tell her that any of the stories in the Bible/Quran/Name your text are correct and should be followed.

Also schools have taken their pupils into mosques although i remember reading a few weeks ago that some woman went a bit mental because her daughter was asked to cover her head out of respect when they entered the mosque....a big fuss was caused over that.

Ahh fair enough, i didnt really read much into the story myself tbh. I just remember skimming over it quickly whilst browsing the daily fail site as i normally do when bored at work.

I'm still waiting for you to explain how you can justify debating using something that you "skimmed quickly" from a paper that you would never read unless you want to be offended.

Mr Hypocrite?
If you don't read much into it and quickly skimmed it then why did you use it as proof of your argument?
Now who is proving themselves ignorant?

EDIT: And I would assume that you read the Mail online as you are looking for ammunition, which means you are actively looking to be offended, which also explains your presence in this thread.

Muslim victim...again.

You can insult me again instead of explaining if you want. But we all see you for what you are. Bigot is the word that springs to mind (closely followed by sanctimonious).

Finally someone who says what ive been saying for god knows how long now lol....the thread has served its purpose as far as i was concerned but the childishness of 3 particular posters have made it go on and on and on.

But im finding it hilarious to read what they post...

Not saying that at all...what im saying that as a good muslim i will bring up my children up in an islamic upbringing...i dont want them to wonder what exactly they are ie they are born as muslims but i dont bother teaching them or putting them in an islamic school. As a parent its also important to me to bring up them with the added benefit that they may very well be muslims but if they choose not to practise the religion then that is purely down to them like it was down to me to practise or not as long as i did my duty of making sure they knew about islam and what it asks of muslims. Now im practising but up until 2 yrs ago i wouldnt say i practised islam...i still kept my knowledge and knew what was expected as me as a muslim but you see i practise islam for myself...not because of my parents constantly at me all the time....my philosophy in life is if you are going to practise something then do it when you feel the time is right and do it because you WANT to. Theres no point in praying, fasting if your heart isnt in it.

It probably doesnt make much sense to you but its pretty hard to get my point across on here. If it was face to face then it would be so much easier i think...ive had plenty of my friends ask me that if im a muslim why didnt i practise it until 2 yrs ago...telling them face to face made it easier to explain and they fully understood my reasons.

Well your not going to get a justification fella...i wonder why you keep harping on about it though??...why?? because no matter what i say it goes in one ear and out the other...plus you have no respect whatsoever when it comes to other people religions or beliefs so why should i even bother engaging you in a conversation....you feel the need to constantly make degrading comments about islam and their beliefs....which your perfectly entitled to but dont cry tears when people such as me dismiss your posts due to the offensive nature of them. You can criticise islam all you like...go for it...doesnt bother me in the slightest really and if you think it offends me then you couldnt be more wrong than you are.

I havent insulted you...if i have then please for the love of god report me;)...you havent so that concludes that you dont have a clue as to what your on about and are just looking for another e-arguement...which i honestly cant be bothered with.

As for bigot??...ermmm POT KETTLE BLACK is all i have to say on that matter.

Anyhow im out of this thread now...have fun going round in circles...im quite dizzy by it all :p

I don't find it offensive to draw an image and name it Mohammed, neither do I really understand why anyone would not just ignore it anyway.

But then again I am not a Muslim and if they are offended by it and the protagonists know this then why would they do it just to insult someone needlessly?

It's not very different from having a "burn an effigy of the Pope day", what kind of furore would that cause across the western world, especially in Catholic countries such as Italy.

It's just unneccessary, and to be honest so is this thread once the news item had been discussed and the day had passed.

Because a bunch of Muslims threatened the south park guys :p

You can blow up our buildings, kill out people, but never ever threaten our TV! :D

Likewise we find your posts & bizarre beliefs hilarious & the childishness of mainly 3 muslim posters has made it go on & on & on but in your closseted world you apparently can't/won't view it that way will you :)

Personally I have tried a more light hearted approach & tried to avoid any direct personal insults at any particular poster unlike you calling me & others bum chums & ignorant because we don't agree with your views.

if the thread continues then so be it, anyone who objects then just select ' unsubscribe thread' simple as that.
