Thats fine...i really dont care if you find my beliefs bizarre...i just find it very bizarre that you and your 3 friends here cant accept other peoples beliefs without resorting to petty childish insults;). I mean i find hindhu-ism and their beliefs very bizarre but you dont see me resorting to childish insults about them...live and let live is the most apt saying here.

Anyhow nevermind i havent taken anything to heart unlike some in here...ive had a great laugh at the expense of a few....its all good fun as far as im concerned and its been a great eye opener with regards to some peoples opinions and views.

But can't you see that your insulting my belief that there is no god is just the same, but you choose to ignore that & throw insults.
You can call my religion atheism if you like so why can't you accept my beliefs?
admitedly I don't accept yours or any other believers in a god that doesn't exist but then again I'm not accusing anyone of resorting to petty insults :) & unless I'm wrong I don't recall throwing any actual insults at you or anyone unless you count dissagreeing with someones beliefs as an insult but that works both ways does it not

I'd very much like Spawn to look back over his posts in this thread before he accuses anyone else of "childish insults".
Personally, I think his tone has changed dramatically recently and he is now just resorting to calling us ignorant, laughable, bum chums, and not worthy of discussion...pfff! Who is actually sounding childish Spawn?

I don't like religion, any religion. I find yours particularly abhorrant, get over it and stop being offended.
 
There is a God, the only problem is, he is an abstract construct of own own fears and refusal to accept our own mortality.
Most religions are based on truth, the problem arose with the interpretation of this truth. The limited understanding of the authors and prophets created a system of myths and moral codes which as we become more knowledgeable we are more likely to dismiss.

We dismiss them at our peril however, the message is important even if the delivery is naive and primitive. I would rather live in a religious moral world, than a souless Amoral one.

We need to find a balance between our need for spirituality and our thirst for knowledge. When we succeed at this we will finally come of age as a species.

In my humble opinion of course.
 
To me it is very simple.

There is a God, and a merciful God at that.

Jesus is the Son of God. Jesus preached peace, understanding and mercy.

There is a fallen angel named Satan who seeks evil, pestilience and war through weak willed humans.

Mohammed was a self claimed prophet who forwarded his word through war and conquest.

Do the math.

I'm trying to do the math but one thing confuses me and maybe you can help ?

When the slave brought Jesus to aid the ill Roman soldier why didnt Christ chastise him for keeping slaves ?
 
To me it is simple.

Life is for living, so drink, make merry and smash as much pasty as physically possible. Religion provides a way to live your life, but if it gets in the way of the above it's not worth doing. The excesses of Rigidly followed religion only complicates the issue.

the reason why there are so many muslims and people converting to islam is because they take there religious far too seriously, rather than it being a part of their life. It is their life.

they brainwash kids from a young age, you must pray 5 times a day. kids are sent to islamic school on weekends, etc. Girls are forced to shave their private parts, forced to marry their cousins, as well as a lot of other things.

I know this because i have dated muslim girls from a strict upbringing. not all muslims are like this though, some are liberal but the majority isnt. The majority are very strict and take their religion far too seriously.

why in the world today are most of the wars in the world being fought with muslims on one side?

Russia / chechnya
USA / iraq
USA / afghanistan
India / pakistan
Israel / palestine

im sure there are some in africa too

its a religion of mass conversion. they are trying to take over the world, either by killing non believers or converting them. another reason why so many convert is because say they start dating a muslim girl/boy and fall in love, the muslim girl/boy as well his/her parents will force the other person to convert before agreeing to marriage. the other person will just do it to please everyone.

I agree, although I have yet to find one. This world we live in certainly isn't one.

I was just pointing out that religion isn't evil or bad, just some of it's adherents are, just as secular or non-religious are not all good. Take Stalin and Mao for example.

People do bad things regardless of the justification they may give.

If those Muslim girls were from such strict upbringing then how come they had the freedom to date you, a self confessed infidel.

You do realise that in all the examples you gave, the Muslims were nit the instigators in any of them.

The main and bloodiest conflict in Africa (DRC) is mainly Christians.

well i happen to speak the same language as them, look similar to them. even mistaken for one on some occasions. although their strict upbringing is what led to it not working out.

pakistani's have been terrorising india for years, remember mumbai attacks on oberoi hotel etc. India was not the instigator there.

Probably something to do with this whole forgiveness thing that seems to be a central part of Jesus's escapades, that's my guess at least. I've not read a lot of the Bible (not christian) so I could be wrong.

they may have had the freedom to date me, in secret. but were forced to marry their cousins, to get them into the country. the religion is very messed up

This is also endemic in the Hindu religion also, to to ascribe it to Muslims only is disingenuous.

The hatred between Hindu and Muslim is a two way street also.
 
Are you an expert on Islam like you are on cars sonny?

Would that mean you've sat in over a thousand mosques?
