I think that's a bit different.
I think the idea is that if WW3 happens and conscription is reintroduced, Slug would be there, ready to take on whoever the country dictates us to fight.
Not everyone wants to be in the army out of choice though when they don't need to be.
Because you state Islam is different than other religions in the way it pervades society as a whole. It isn't, all religions can be said to have done the same at one point or another. That is why it is relevent.

I think you need to get a grip mate. I'm not defending christianty per se, just pointing out your bigotry. I am not bigoted at all, I think you need to look up the definition of it.
As for the Ark, it is a commonly held belief it rested on Ararat, and in that context the first post was made. The second post was to highlight that you judge a book you haven't even read, and in that context there is no contradiction.
If you cannot defend your claims against what you say is 'nit picking' then don't make them. You can state you beliefs quite well without offending every other faith going if you try.
And remember, I wasn't defending any specific faith, only proving your claim that the bible proves there is no God to be erroneous.
I don't argue with my wife as she doesn't hold the same bigoted views you do and knows the difference between arguing and debate.
If there is one thing that is sure to divide people, cause arguments, lead to violence and oppression it's religion. Life would be a lot simpler if people kept their faith to themselves rather than forcing it down other peoples throats.

Then we would just find another excuse.. if there was no religion it wouldn't make any difference at all to be quite honest as the main crux of the issue is differences in cultures and the intolerance between them. "Religion" is just used as a convenient blanket label

That's debatable of course. A couple of nut jobs? Or so some degree a state of mind across huge numbers? Let's remember this even resulted in some countries cutting internet access - so it was hardly just a bunch of 'nutters' taking action.
The initial movement was set off by the fact people are havnig to adjust their behaviour just to appease religious individuals, who go out of their way to be offended. Add to this then that of course we've see violence even threatened, people had simply had enough, and decided in a peaceful way to make a complete mockery of the entire thing.
In short, how dare any religion try and push its beliefs onto other people, especially people of different cultures/beliefs!
