Mclaren-Honda MP4-30 *** 2015 Launch Thread

That was the Honda engine crate, so carries Honda's branding. Like the yellow clad Renault blokes in the Red Bull garage.

The McLaren Honda F1 team currently seems to have a corporate colour pallet of white, green and silver... and chrome and black and red.

I've not seen anything that cross pollinates the pallets though? Is there anything that's been painted chrome and green? Or white and red?

Yeah...maybe Ron is just waiting to finalise a sponsorship deal perhaps (as alluded with the 'livery will change' messages).

Yeah that's my though. It seems very odd coming from a team so keen on its image.

Has anything new (I.e. new things, or old things that have been rebranded) been painted/coloured using the chrome, black and red, other than the car itself? It's as if they sent the car to a different spray shop to everything else, and they got the order wrong :p

Or maybe all the other stuff was painted by a supplier off site, while the car was painted in house to avoid prying eyes, and the MTC order of white and green paint didn't arrive in time, so they used what they had lying around :p

I'd really like a white and green McLaren.

Just watched Teds day 3 note book and the boards they put up at the back of the garage are all white and dark green with silver lettering, the colours of the M2B. This matches the new team wear and the new driver overall's.

But the motorhome is still chrome and black like last year. I get that painting the motorhome is probably low on their priority list though, so its likely just not been done yet.

But then they go to the effort of painting the car black and chrome... and red. There is litterally no red anywhere else on any of their branding. They can't claim its just last years colours like they can with the motorhome as its a brand new car. Someone has taken the new bare carbon fibre body and chosen to paint it that colour.

So they have gone to the effort of producing new team wear and new hoardings for their garage, and also painted their new car, but they seem to have been done to 2 completely different corporate images. Its so bizzare.

Motor home is coming to EOL, Painting it takes weeks, they will only paint it if/when a new sponsor comes along.
 
If not next year then certainly the year after I would suggest.
My colleague traveled with it last year and did the AV, loved it, he beat me too it :(
 
I don't mind the livery too much (other than the shade of red and those bloody mirrors), but better hurry up and change it, as every time I see the car from the front at the moment I immediately think Marussia have made a comeback. I don't know why, as the car generally resembles the HRT more than the Marussia, but meh.
 
Something like this would be soooo much better! Chrome and Black is so dull meh

Super Aguri was basically a self branded Honda factory team, so if Honda had their way I expect thats what it would look like.

But as it stands, Ron holds the strings, and he's... er... well... I'm not actually sure what he's playing at?
