Mercedes Benz and AMG Owners

Lol took me a while to work out what stripes. :p

Erm yeah no, wheels are standard with the Premium Pack. If you use the online configurator it pops them on for you. I really like them too, and thankfully not too fiddly to clean. :D

@Firegod - looks great. Is it brand new? What was the wait between order and delivery?

Thanks! No its only a few months old, it was the demo car for the dealership but they'd only just got it. Had only 168 miles on the clock and I snapped it up. So can't comment on ordering new / wait times / delivery, sorry.

Booked car in for a B service today for the 15th. Spoke to them about my lack of stop/start and they said it may not actually be the aux battery but actually the main just not being charged enough. To be fair, it has not been on a decent drive for months so hopefully worse case is a new main battery - cheaper than the aux!

He also said it could be software, so he will look at that too.

I do like my mechanic!

After around 25 years of pretty much only BMW ownership, I've joined the dark side. After my X3 M40i was stolen I bought an i3 for the school run, and although still having a 440i convertible we still needed something bigger and more practical for longer journeys and also holidays. So I'd been looking around for a while, at interesting things on Collecting Cars and saw an AMG C63 on there. Although I didn't bid on it (it was a w204 with over 100k miles) it made me take a better look at newer ones and I was surprised at how good value they were compared to equivalent BMWs. Then a poster here (I won't name him as he'll lose his BMW fanboy membership) sent me a link to a w205 C63 wagon which looked absolutely perfect. So after looking at it and also at how much other equivalents were I pulled the trigger and here she is. :)

It's like brand new, I'm really pleased. The guy I bought it from got it last August as an approved used Mercedes with 2 year warranty, so I have a warranty until August 2022 - actually a longer warranty than if I'd bought one from my local dealer now!

Specs as follows:
Selenite Grey
Nappa leather semi aniline/black
Premium sound system
Panoramic roof
and all the other usual things you get with a C63.

So far I love it, I've never actually owned a v8 before, only straight 6s and a V6 Capri 3.0S - the noise and low down torque is amazing and it's certainly very lary in sports+ in the wet. Hopefully we won't get too much snow this weekend so I can have a bit more of a drive in it.

The only thing that has put me off it a bit slightly is seeing the cars on the C63 Facebook group with things like '4d gel numberplatez' but I'm sure I can live with that. :D

This would have made a lot more sense than my E43 . What was mileage/year/price if you don't mind sharing?

Has anyone any experience with the A/CLA 250 engineered by AMG, I know they’re 4wd and circa 210bhp but what are they like to live with if anyone owns one?

Lovely Benz there.

An AMG C63 for example, is a car ‘engineered by AMG’. A CLA or similar with a couple of AMG badged add-ons, is not a car engineered by AMG.

T’is but clever marketing.

To be fair, when I get my wheels aligned I need to remind them that it's an AMG due to there being two setups for the 250d Vs 250d AMG Line - but aside from that and the Sport Plus mode, it's really just a body kit

Which is both fine and prudent I’d say.

It was just an odd thing to say re the car in question. Heck it’d raise eyebrows if someone had said it about an AMG E43/C43 :D

I would take a 43 over a 63 to be honest. Just my opinion but I want the 4wd of the 43.
