Mercedes Benz and AMG Owners

Looks pretty clear to me that the button for the heated seats are where they usually are on Mercs - on the doors.
That was for my Jag - looking at the image it looks like everything but heated seats require the screen. Climate, radio, fan direction etc etc.

I imagine you can use voice commands for everything if you want, those systems are much better now.

And it's possible the climate controls will remain on screen, regardless of which setting you are in.

Well it is certainly less dangerous than the Tesla system but still crap IMHO. I shouldn't have to look down to do basic things.

I also hate that I can't wear gloves to operate half these things, and the smudges it leaves all over the shop.

Edit: And if voice is anything like the last few implementations in vehicles, god help us :D

It looks like a good evolution update from the previous gen.
They have cleaned up and removed all of the buttons, infotainment controls & gear selector from the centre arm rest area. Moving them to the screen or steering wheel. The screen is now integrated into the the design so answers the 'looks like they forgot about the screen in the design phase and stuck it on at the end' arguments. The ambient lighting looks OTT in the image but you can adjust the brightness, colour or turn it off.

Better than a 3 Series? I think the interior definitely is - wait for the reviews to see how it drives.

Really hate the Tesla Style tablet for the interior. Touch screen only is just so annoying in practical use.

The sweet spot is both touch and physcial controls, like in most BMWs or the older gen Mercedes, as much as I hate the "ipad on dash" stuck on affair, this total screen domination irks me even more. Screens date very quickly.

Also the external styling is OK but damn so simialr to the CLA/CLS they look indisiguisable, however looks like a minor change overall as the side profiles of both the saloon & estate look identical to the W/S205 shape.

The new C Class looks fantastic but it's very sad to see no premium engine options at all this time. It was bad enough last time when only the AMG models had anything decent. I guess its the direction of travel but both the 3 Series and the A4 still have 6 cylinder options.

I look forward to renting one of these at some point in the near future though!

Yet probably still a nicer place to be than basically any BEV on the market, perhaps with the exception of the EQC or the E Tron.

Why didn't you quote my whole post? I had 2x C Class prior to this model release, both brand new, and both nice cars. I said I wouldn't get this regardless as it isn't BEV, my Hyundai is just as nice, if you don't agree then I don't care. K, thanks bye.

Just me thinking that the (exterior) above example looks like the absolute epitome of bland? :(

This patently isnt true though is it, if it was, why didnt you save an absolute bundle and just buy Hyundai cars prior to BEVs being a thing? They are dirt cheap (as are the EVs!, they are amazing value but personally not something which i would want).

Mercedes were always fairly unique in having an E and C Class Coupe and Cabriolet. No other manufacturer in this segment does this really (Though you could argue BMW did for a time with the now defunct 6 Series).

Looking forward to seeing what the subtle C63 styling will do to that exterior. They're obviously no way near as aggressively styled as they were back with the W204, but the W205 was done just enough to make it stand out.

I just really hope they smash it out the park with the hybrid engine going in the C63, if they do that, then it's going to be a must-have for me. I will miss the noise, and based on how the A45/S sounds now with the same sort of engine, it will sound very underwhelming...but that's just the way the car market is going. Noisy V8's and even proper V6/straight-six engines are becoming rarer and rarer. Won't be long until BMW ditch them as well
