Mercedes Benz and AMG Owners

Popped into Mercedes House (good marketing with a bar and resto) and had a sit in the S Coupe and MB-AMG GT.

Oh my.
AMG GT looks epic and the S Coupe is a lovely place to be. Very impressed.

Shame the E class is still a bit meh on the inside. They really need to fix that.

I am rather surprised you get no free servicing with a new SL.. unless you pay extra for it. Even given the very backwards mentality of dealers here, I got 3 years of servicing, 5 years of warranty, and insurance and registration all thrown in on my E350..no map updates though

Is this normal in the UK? Probably a good point to haggle on if so, before you buy it.

Nevertheless, congrats and want to see pictures please.

Its due to be replaced quite soon. It's rather deceptive because the car has been out quite a long time now, it just happened to undergo probably the most thorough facelift there's ever been on a car!

Well the 212 came out in 2010 and will be replaced in 2017.. So not as old as plenty of models out there. I hated the dash on the 2010s, but they have improved it somewhat since then (new steering wheel etc) but other than that the interior is pretty good. The 2014 facelifts are even nicer, agreed.

The 212 was released in 2009 and will be replaced next year. Mercedes are always about a year ahead of the 5 Series per generation.

Seriously thinking about a Service Plan on my shiny new (well, 6 weeks and 1 day old) CLS. From memory, I think it is £30/month, which equates to £1,080 or £360/year for 3yrs.
Last car, Jaguar XF, cost me around £300 for an A service, and £400 for a B.....so seems good value @ more or less bank in the middle?

Pop into your dealer and ask what the cost of servicing is.

Also factor in the servicing intervals miles/years and only then can you see if it is worth it for you.

You can say that again  - I'd have been pretty miffed if I was one of prefacelift purchasers who bought a brand new car to only have the facelift come 3 year later and look like a new model! While the prefacelift is a handsome car, the facelift does make it look relatively dated.

Nice car dude, don't agree with your colour choice but very nice:) Looking at the statistics of that new 3.0 V6 it seems pretty impressive, and rather swift!

So delicious.

Please tell us more about this car. I know what an SL is but know nothing about the trims it comes in.

So what is the SL400?

The Mercedes website configurator will tell you far more than a forum post will :p
