Hi folks,

My E43 is needing a service and MOT in November (due Dec 1st). I have had the Service Plan since its first major service (year before last?), so the last service was a minor one. It is approaching 29k miles on a 68 plate.

I am thinking of either extending the service plan (assuming it is still 42/mo) as mom and pa' style garages are probably going to want similar money (£504/year) money? That also includes plugs and any other recommended items.

Or is it time to seek out a decent indy?

I'd use an indy. My B services are usually ~£300-£350. A service is due in a few months so not sure on that cost but the gearbox service which is also required is around £350. I'd only get servicing done at MB if the car was in warranty.

Thanks. I am due Service A this year -- I guess I need to lookup local Indys and guage their pricing versus Mercedes. The "cost saving" I am seeing is when plugs are due again, but I suppose that is some time away.

Is it possible to manage the service plan online?

Yeah you can get a quote online and then buy from Mercedes

Yeah I appreciate that, thing is I did it 2 years ago and have no idea what I signed up for so was looking for how to manage it.

There is an indy that will do service A for 225 so substantially cheaper....might do this instead.

Hah,

Interesting turn of events (and slightly unethical?) - Mercedes have informed me I asked for a 4 service plan deal (I didn't; but they did say its the same price per month irrespective, it just runs for "longer", so it is in my benefit now I have a choice to make) and my payments will continue till October 2024. I have 2 services remaining "in the bank"..

Which doesn't make sense unless this is mega value - as that is only £1512 for 4 services - one of which included break fluid and spark plugs...

Edit: she screwed up. It's 3 services.

After a bit of advice, I'm going to be moving jobs soon in which I'll be losing the use of a company car (and cash for cars), there will still be an expectation to do some level of travelling but nowhere near what I've done previously.

Anyway, long story short.. it means I can go with what I want.. which is a C Class AMG Line and I've got my eye on a 2019 2 litre diesel estate. What's the general thoughts on these? Any good? Looking for something that's economical to run, not ridiculously expensive to own, be luxurious whilst being practical too... so I thought this ticks all the boxes.

I'm a complete novice to Mercedes, this will be the first one I've ever owned. I'd assume the stiffer suspension is down to AMG trim levels but I'm probably way off the mark with that.
