Mercedes Benz and AMG Owners

I've got a 2013 C220 and get around the 42 mark. That's mostly mixed driving.

You guys must all have extremely heavy right feet. I'm getting this on average out of my E350CDI. The last 1,600 miles is showing 45MPG on the computer.

When I was driving Bolton to Gosport last year, I often had it in the mid 50's.

I can get it in the 50s but I really can't be arsed with hanging about in the mornings. My daily commute is mostly small A & B roads so its a lot a stopping and starting.

Longer runs show in the 50s with ease but certainly nothing like Mercs estimates.

What are you planning to use to reseal the headlights?

This is something I'd like to know, I've restored headlights twice and both times they started to haze again come summer. I did consider clear coating then with lacquer at one point, that'd sort it.

Sorry, missed these posts! Exactly the same happened to me previously - I restored them (but not the whole hog using the sandpaper etc) and they hazed over again (I never sealed them though). This time I have sealed them with Autoglym HD Wax (the best protection in my arsenal at the moment). There seem to be films that you can put over them, but a lot of people on the Meguiars and detailing forums seem to swear by a good wax, as long as it protects from UV. Only time will tell I guess...

Ordered a new c200 sport premium plus estate this week. Expected delivery in November. Went for petrol rather than diesel.

Will be great to get back into a decent car after 3 years of economising in a low spec diesel passat while a new house took priority over motoring.

Surprising engine choice for you Dolph given your car history, especially given a factory order suggests you are not exactly on a tight budget. Why a C200?

Edit: Wow, I guess because it is the ONLY petrol option they offer?! Blimey. The next obvious one would have been the C350e but it's a whopping £12k more.

The US market C300 has 240ish bhp, 0-60 in about 6 seconds and it's a 4 cylinder turbo petrol. Why on earth isn't that offered here alongside the C200 which is presumably the same engine anyway

C200 petrol is still good for 7.3 secs to 60 and 145mph, so not really a slouch. Gets a bit confusing because the c200d is a 10secs+ car. The waiting list for the 350e is quite significant as well, likely to be 2016 some time, and the negotiation wasn't likely to be as good price wise. Compared to my current 110bhp diesel Passat it will be fast enough :)

I have driven both the 220 and 250d, but I don't do enough mileage to warrant the extra costs.

its a Diesel C class, last generation, with factory AMG body kit and option wheels(?)

Certainly not a C63 lol, or an E class.

Said I felt like a idiot for asking this is why :p Thought it was cheap if it was a genuine AMG.

Cheers for quick reply :)

I would be absolutely amazed if anyone customer facing within Mercedes is given next generation product info ahead of launch.

Just going by what someone at Mercedes UK told me, apparently after talking to the product team.

My SRS warning light came on today, c220 07 , passenger seat problem sensor i think, anybody had anything like this and what were the costs?

Could be a number of things - getting it on STAR would probably be the quickest way to diagnose anything electrical like this.

The R172 SLK55s have crashed in price now the winter is coming and the first round of 3 year old models are on the market. Would love the new tech, but the outside still doesn't do enough for me. Maybe next year if I can get the right spec in the grey.

Can't justify R8 V10 money at the moment, but perhaps in a few years time. That or an AMG GT.

I know, not necessarily all comparable, but they are the only cars I am interested in at the moment :)

very nice, was this one of the special deals advertised a while back ?

Wasn't aware of any special deals to be honest, and was surprised when my company negotiated 10% discount off list as demand for these is very high due to the tax benefits relating to its 5% Benefit in Kind.
