Mercedes Benz and AMG Owners

I'm not so sure it does to be honest - I had a '15 E220 CDI for the weekend and did quite a few miles and found it frustratingly breathless.

I also loved the intelligent LED lights, absolutely amazing.

Well I agree and am looking forward to my C350e arriving but the CLS220d is sublimely comfortable and although it's not going to put a huge smile on your face it does move off the mark adequately, it cruises adequately and if that's enough for you then performance would be entirely adequate.

Fully agree on the headlights. Also, the adaptive high-beam stuff works very very well in my E-class, it's very good at detecting light sources and reflections out there ahead of the vehicle and dipping asap.

I'm currently driving a CLS 220d, it's a new one which only had 200 miles on the clock but after having for a week now has 1200.

It's a big car for the 2.1 diesel, doesn't really matter if you aren't a sporty driver of course as it gets up to speed reasonably and cruises well.

It's the base model but is really well equipped, love the Intelligent LED lights especially as they are phenomenal.

When I was loaned it by the MB dealer he said the main issue with them was depreciation.

At just under 5 metres in length I think that it's too big unless you really are into large cars.

If you'd got a family note that the one I'm driving only has two rear seats with storage etc in the middle.

Thanks for the information.

Regarding the rear seats I notice this about only 2 in the rear. Currently we only have 1 daughter and may decide to have a further 1 in the future but the amount of times I have needed to seat 3 people in the back in the 10+ years of driving I could count on 1 hand.

The intelligent lights, is this an option available on the cars within a 20k budget? I guess going by the depreciation on these, and if I wait a further 6/12 months they could become available?

Decided the E isn't for me, lovely big barge that felt to me a bit more of an all round premium product than the equivalent a6 or certainly the e60 - but just a bit too...bargey for me I think. Probably end up going for something a little smaller.

On the digital servicing front Merc confirmed it should have a book, though were also able to detail its full history so might be the one occasion "lost the book" is actually true

Just joined the MB club. Bit of an impulse purchase but enjoying the upgrade from a Honda Civic! Not the newest car but a lovely example nonetheless. It's a C280 Sport. :)

Looks nice, I like the C class even if the early interior is a bit suspect (it looks much better in person than in photos despite the 'astra' styling.

The 280 should be a nice balance, it felt reasonably brisk in the E class I drove so should be decent in the smaller C. I've always thought the early cars were quite expensive for what they are though

Well, not that I needed yet another car, but this seemed too nice to miss. £900 90k 300e, seems nice enough, currently getting the once over at my mates garage.

Arches are good, only a little bubbling on one arch. Electric aerial doesn't work, aircon needs a "regas" (borked), but other than that, it all seems good

Haha, better pics here. Checked out at my mates garage and it has a diff leak, but other than that its pretty awesome. Super solid, no play in the wheels that they expected, runs sweet etc. Should have it home in a few days.

The filters are all new, oil is fresh etc and it appears to be well cared for. No need for it, but hey, why not. Seen my r32 engine sitting in the workshop nearby, gets the mind going! :)

Nice merc m8, I'm always on the look out for an old one :p

Personally I'd prefer one of the models with more grunt, but you can't argue with that for £900 ;)

Only 1 stalk, is the left & right indicator switch on the right side then?
Those door pockets - great for storing letters :p

Loving that :) It looks to be in amazingly good condition, mine was rotten as a pear and this was years ago!

They've got quite a following on Pistonheads - several people have done full restorations on them, spending many times the purchase price. They are apparently brilliant cars - I'd like to have a go of one someday.
