Mercedes Benz and AMG Owners

my c300h AMG line + premium pack was delivered this week. Stunning car to be in, the interior really is something.

The engine is great, it did 60mpg on a run, and @ 230 bhp, it has loads of go.

The one criticism, that i am sure i will get used to is that the hyrbid harvesting isn't that subtle.

I'll post some pics. Palladium silver, panoramic roof + privacy glass looks excellent.

Nice colour choice, love it on my CLS.
Looking forward to some pics - the hybrid is interesting......wondering if the new E class will have a similar model, as that is on my list to replace my CLS when it gets to 2yrs old or so.....

So these round, shiny, spinning things turned up :D

But I'm still waiting on a smaller S/C pulley and bigger heat exchanger so I can't do anything with them yet

Any AMG GTS or S63 Coupe owners on the forum?

Considering a weekend GT car and have these two as well as a 991.2 Targa 4S on my shortlist.

They look like fun :)

Fitting them yourself?

I'm hoping so!

I would have fitted them myself but since I'm going to have both remaps done, I figured I may as well have the lot fitted at the same time since they'd have the front bumper off to fit the new pump and heat exchanger and the belt off to fit the SC pulley!

Apparently there's a delay with the production with the heat exchangers with the manufacturer...I placed my order at the beginning of March!

Are these blow-out sales on the old model? The picture shows the new model. If its the old model you'd need to really, really want one for it to be worth it IMHO.

Sent a message asking.

Is there something wrong witht he old model or is it just a lot to for out for last years wardrobe?

It's just very old fashioned inside now and fairly dated.

Which is great if you are buying a 5+ year old used car but not that great if you are shelling out £16,500 to drive one for 2 years.

That's the old (outgoing) model in the picture isn't it? The standard E220 Night Edition's have been on very cheap deals for a few months now, AMG following suit.

It's still pretty tempting for an E63, regardless of the fact that its the old model. Still, I'd expect that price to be for business contract hire, not personal.

Sold my W124 300E today, put it up on Retro Rides yesterday and a nice chap flew up this morning and took it away

So sad to see it go, was a great car, but the Skyline will be ready in 3 or 4 weeks

Came across a new E Class in the wild today. Looks elegant and the interior is beautiful. The resemblance to a C Class makes them almost indifferent. I understand all car manufacturers like to keep a theme of similarity across the range but the E literally looks like an inflated C. Not a bad thing per se as the C is a great looking car. But a few striking differences wouldn't go amiss to differentiate that it's a whole range above the C.

Car spent the day at Eurocharged yesterday having various bits fitted along with a service and gearbox oil and seal change.

New, bigger heat exchanger and new cooling system pump:

New idler pulley set and belt wrap with smaller supercharger pulley:

And a remap of the ECU and TCU.

Now gives me around 550bhp and 650ft-lb (880Nm) right across the rev range (keeps that peak torque from around 2k rpm when the SC clutch engages all the way to 5k so you can really feel it pull hard while driving 'normally'). As this are, it could have put out more tuned for peak figures but it wouldn't have been as wide a power band so I'm happier with it like this for drivability. Adding higher flowing exhaust manifold could potentially see me shift that up by another 20-30bhp with the same power delivery but I think it would make the car a lot louder and I'm not keen on that so I need to consider options. It's fairly un-obnoxious as it is (cold starts and WOT being exceptions!)

The TCU map also sped up gear changes significantly so it feels like a completely different car now.

Now, it's not quite the 920bhp that ianh's RS6 is putting out :p but certainly puts a grin on my face :D

edit; Also, thought it would be worth mentioning that I was really pleased with the guys at EC - would recommend them highly. Kept me updated at every stage of the process and I found the quality of work to be excellent.
