Mercedes Benz and AMG Owners

I’ve noticed that too, they are definitely not as good as the F10 Xenons, the beam pattern is quite low. Almost like standard halogen lights, just white instead of yellow.
 
I was rather unimpressed by the LED headlights on a C-Class hire car I had a while back. They weren't as good as my Mondeo's xenons.
 
From doing some reading it seems the 2019 model year E Class, production of which commenced on June 1st and which mine is, now have 1/2 of what was the previous models Command system, the big 12 inch high definition screen. When you buy Command today, it seems it adds some functions like Apple play and the digital dials and the odd touch control above the wheel I have on mine. I was told Command was a waste of time these days unless you want the digital dials particularly, which I was not bothered about so pleased with the aesthetic. It seems the Sat Nav is the same as the Command one and is no longer the Garmin cheap crappy one they used to fit.
 
If anyone can tell me what the bloody Me App does I would appreciate it.

I have connected it via my VIN number and connected via the Sat Nav screen, but when I load the App it gives me nothing to do, accept connect another car.

Awful software.
 
It's a terrible hybrid app. As an app developer it pains me every time I use it. For some reason it occasionally gives general news alerts (which is useless) and traffic alerts (which aren't as good as the Google maps ones). The only useful thing it does is let you know when you've left the car unlocked and, so long as you've got the connection set properly between the app and your car's VIN, lock it remotely.

If you log in to the online Mercedes Me portal you can also set up geofencing, which is useful if you're going away for a while and leaving the car parked somewhere. Just remember to turn it off before you drive it again :)
 
It is terrible as you say. I am no developer, but I know good and bad app design and this is awful. I have connected it to my vehicle (a total pain in the ass to do) and entered the PIN and got the emails confirming it's all done. But I load the App and all I see is this screen. I am getting ZERO options to do anything. I try (again) to define vehicle and obviously it tells me the VIN is already registered, as it is. I have of course logged out and in, no fix. Removed App and reinstalled. Nope, back here again.

Seems to be working, but I had to go via a web browser which then asked me to start a webchat to authenticate with my passport and decided to ask me for stuff in German.

So far my experience of Mercedes customer services makes me think they can go **** themselves. Harsh, but truly terribly disjointed online experience and this is something I do know about.
 
The supplying dealer should have explained the process of authenticating Me to you at handover. MB Shrewsbury offered to set it all up for me but I did it myself.

The webapp is better than the native Android app. It has a lot more features on Hybrid cars - you can control charging and precondition the climate control.
 
I gave up on the app after it refused to authenticate my VIN 3 times (2 week wait each time). I asked at the dealership and they said to call them. My car is a 2012 so it can't do too much with it anyway.
 
I set mine up on a PC then logged into the app then it was ok. The app is crap though, it tells you that you have left your windows open when you haven’t every now and then. I don’t bother with it
 
I hardly use Mercedes Me. Seems that it's mainly for information only, though you can 'do' a few things like remote lock / unlock.

The one Mercedes Me feature I use an awful lot is sending a destination to the car from Google Maps. It's really good being able to search for a location from your phone then have the car start navigating there when you start driving.

Regards headlights, I've got the multibeam ILS and they're absolutely brilliant and extremely bright.

Will get the standard lights set up at local dealer see if that improves it. The reach is too short.

The car was delivered to my home when I was away on business. My wife took delivery.

It was when I did it via my Mac it started to work. Badly designed App, clunky.

Anyone know how to change the sat nav map colour? Mine seems dark, like it’s stuck in night mode or something and not obvious how to change it and the book is big and thick :)

Have you used the Mercedes Me Adapter software yet as well as the Mercedes me ? Is the adapter plugged into the right socket? ( there seems to be 2 on mine and first time i tried i plugged into the wrong 1 lol) Needs to be the 1 with the flap
 
So my first brief impressions after 150 miles or so.

- Asthetically really nice inside
- Quality behind modern Audi’s
- Quality smidge behind modern BMW’s
- Rides better than my 530D did
- Still suffers from bounce on bad ruts
- Insultes you well from road noise
- Relaxing to drive
- Digital tech is a bit hit and miss
- Unconvinced it needs 9 gears
- Never quick, usually adequate
- Stero is bass shy, but good quality
- Steering is little lifeless but oh so easy
- Rear space not as good as expected
- Fingerprints
- Epic cup holding
- Silver steering wheel plastic is meh
- Internal lighting funky
- I find the steering wheel blocks Nav partly
- I forgot that black is ALWAYS dirty
- It is going to be perfect for my needs
- I like it
