Mercedes Benz and AMG Owners

I think every man and his dog has an E220. Ive just driven home from a wet car meet in Essex and every other car was seemingly an E220d

Some pictures of my 2017 plate E43 AMG

Have you used the Mercedes Me Adapter software yet as well as the Mercedes me ? Is the adapter plugged into the right socket? ( there seems to be 2 on mine and first time i tried i plugged into the wrong 1 lol) Needs to be the 1 with the flap
I don’t have an adapter. Never even knew there was an adapter. What does it do?

It allows the Mercedes Me app to get access to the car's diagnostics through the OBD port, assuming it didn't come with one from the factory as pretty much all new models do.

Well if anybody is interested, my Hybrid battery wont charge above 80%, its in the main dealer atm and they say they cant find anything wrong with it, this is just as i thought would happen as they have 70k mile warranty i think and mine has done 53k, the cost of a new 1 would be... sit down for this... £11,000 , so its no wonder they cant find anything wrong, until warranty expires of course. Hmmm we will see what they say, i didn't buy it from a main dealer ( big mistake i think this time) and theres no real obvious fault, just wont charge to 100%, not even sure if they do.

 that is a crazy amount of money for 20% of your battery charge.

Surely they have to replace the battery if they cannot find a fix. If you reported it within warranty, if they diagnose it after they should stile liable to fix it.

They say atm they cant find a fault with the battery, i need to find some other owners and see what charge they get, does the warranty apply to the 2nd owner? what if its not a Mercedes garage i got it from, questions i need to get answers to lol.
They have found another fault with a gearbox sensor and they are willing to cut the repair cost 50% and they said there are updates that can be done so maybe that will sort it.
Loving the 18reg E200d they loaned me tho, amazing the updates they done in last 3 years

i am looking for a car in the new year and everything i look at i just keep coming back to a c300 coupe. Love the look of them.

I am heavily considering leasing but they don't seem like a good deal for the prices i see :(

If you are fussy about what you want you are better off buying rather than leasing.

I'd forgotten how crap a 4 cylinder diesel sounds and feels even if it has 'enough' poke for a car like this in most situations. However, I did the first proper run in mine yesterday up to the Liverpool area and was impressed with the MPG's. Is also shows just how slow the M6 is at the moment though!

This was just normal driving, lots of cruise in 50mph road works but also some queuing traffic. Run back with clearer roads and some 'extending it' to see "what will she do Mr" returned 43mpg, which consider how I drove the last 20 miles is still quite good. In the R8 the same style run up would have been 29-30mpg the run back lucky if I got 10mpg driven the same last 20 miles :)

Mercedes have made a really nice car in this E Class. Whilst never really sporty it rides nicely even in AMG form and closets you from the outside nicely. The hifi is more than adequate for my needs and the connectivity is also fine. I will 100% need to get the headlights looked at however, their reach is too short and I am having to use full beam on unlit roads and even if I leave it on I tend not to get flashed, evidencing my lights are probably poorly set up.

Still working on my seating positing however, keep moving it but will get there. Lumber support is good and now adjustable on the MY19 cars (I believe it was an option before) and you can get quite low but I find that does impact vision out the side and front pillar areas, but I am now used to the size of the thing and can throw it around easy enough.

In the market for a CLS55 AMG - as far as I've read the engines are pretty solid with few gripes to look out for. Anything in paticular that I should be concerned with?

The plan is to fit a smaller pulley, X-pipe and a remap.

(Anyone know of a good one going? - Not many decent examples around!)
