Metro: Exodus [E3 2017]

I know there is lots of politics behind all this but Im getting so tired of all these different launchers.

Ive gone against my normal buying habits of games and never preordering but this announcement is on another level. Ive straight up preordered JUST to have the game in my Steam library. Sure it may one day reappear on Steam but I want to play when the game is new in February, not in 6 months times after Epic have had their 'exclusivity' window. (Im speculating)

I draw the line at Steam and Origin. Unfortunately there is Uplay too since it cross launches from Stream but now it looks like Epic is on the rise.

The only saving grace is I am 99.99% sure I was going to buy Exodus anyway. But not today, its not pay day yet lol!

The different launchers dont bother me in the slightest, for the reasons I've gone into many times on these forums. However pulling a switch at this time after it being on Steam for so long is a crappy thing to do.

Doesnt really affect me, I was going to buy it cheaper from a cdkey site and will still do so, so no impact on me personally but they really shouldnt be switching platform at this late stage.

Valve really need to start taking punitive measures against publishers which use Steam's platform to advertise their game and then sign an exclusivity deal elsewhere. It's happened several times now with Epic's store.

Punitive measures, yeah that'll stop developers running away to the competition

It no longer makes economic sense to release your AAA title on Steam. Until Valve respond to the changing market conditions, publishers will continue to desert them. About time too, they've been siphoning off a ridiculous portion of PC game revenues for far too long.

Hahaha pass the savings onto players - £49.99 on steam and £49.99 on Epic.

I don't mind more launchers I'm just a bit dubious after reading about Epics terms & conditions being pretty.... invasive compared to the rest?

Mind I've not looked since I read that on Reddit as I've got a backlog of perfectly good games to play without forking £50 on a title that will be down £30 in 6 months.

I think their efforts would be better put to use in figuring out why they're flocking to another newly-established platform, rather than inventing ways of punishing the businesses they make all their money from.

It's pretty easy to work out why they're going exclusive for a year, Epic are paying them. The Coffee Stain studio devs came right out and said it (around 1.30 into the vid). The big question is whether this venture will be profitable enough for them to keep staying with epic without any cash incentive in future. If that happens then valve should start worrying.

Yeah so apparently retail is also infected by epic fail. Meaning I will cancel the aurora edition and forego steelbook and artbook. Yay. Thanks epic. You god damn aholes.

Metro got delayed to 2020. Amazing. When Ubisoft announced this with Division, I was like "yeah Ubi are stupid enough to do this". But I did not expect THQ Nordic to follow suit, dammit.

I’m not fussed about the division 2 because I use uplay without issues.

I have a feeling epic will be forced to bring in regional pricing and lower the price for metro over this.

Guess I'll just wait until it returns to Steam next year with no Denuvo and the bugs fixed then. If I'm even bothered with it by then.
