Microsoft Flight Sim X demo

I used 3D Gamers. Had to queue for 62 minutes but it only took 13 minutes to download at just over 620KB/s. Just installing it now :) If you register you get to use quicker servers.

I downloaded it.
I tried to play it.
It confused me a lot.
I Crashed it.
It just stopped and said "Crash" :(
I wasnt impressed :(

I'm not impressed either. The graphics look ok but you really need to put them up to full to get it looking anything like the screenshots and that makes it slow to a crawl. Even on Ultra High it doesn't look that impressive. I also wasn't impressed with the ability to fly through objects and buildings and land on the sea. If I did that in a real plane I expect I would die not just magically appear back in the sky again. The actual game didn't crash for me which is the only real plus point.

Edit: Defrag seems to have made a difference to the game speed. Seems quite playable in Ultra High and above but only at 1024x768 and 1280x1024. Haven't got a powerful enough PC to get it running smooth at 1600x1200.

I don't like it still need some tweaking tbh.

Gfx are half currupted on the demo lol, never the less, have to wait till full release. Gfx without AA and AF. Ultra High settings:

Yup, its Princess Juliana airport in Netherlands Antilles. One of the worlds hardest airports to land at. :)
