Microsoft Flight Simulator X

Something seriously isn't right there then! I don't know what to suggest as i don't have FSX, but low FPS with that system doesn't seem right. I think i got more than that in the demo!

I think I did too to be honest!

Doesn't matter - it seems to run fine when I'm not over a city or summat. To be honest, the citys look pretty rubbish anyway - looks much nicer over the countryside or a mountain range or something :)

Just need to try and find some decent addons now. Unfortunately it looks like most of the good ones you gotta pay for! Those Overland Japan Airbus and Boeing packs look rather nice - not sure I wanna pay 12quid a pop mind! The textures on the planes seem a little ropey on the flightsim.com ones

here`s a good shot that i did messing around the other night

dont know if im alone it this but since installing sp1 everything has been great apart from the small issue that i lose control of throttle in some missions! its not my joystick, ive tested it and all was fine before the patch, just everynow and again i cant throttle up or down, even when using the mouse in the cockpit to try and grab the throttle it just wont move! Had to go with some seriously dodegy shutting down engines in a 747 to land at a resonable speed as throttle stuck at 80%

well i've spent the weekend (when the sun wasn't out) playing this after loading the SP1....fantastic experience :)

as someone else posted its like a different game..no need to tweak too much, i turned the auto-gen down a nadge, upped the frame rate to unlimited and boosted the water fx. i think it will always lag (and this concept is relative after all) over the big cities, but then you won't always be sight-seeing...this is about the flying experience and long-haul journeys and the technicalities which go with that.

having done some aviating in the real world, i regard this as a great educational tool....speaking of tools i DO wish micro$oft dispensed with the patronising tones in some of the lessons/missions...my only gripe :D

i'll post some screenies here when i get the chance

One thing I have noticed since installing SP1 is I often get CTD's now which I never got before. :(

I think it's fairly well balanced considering the vast majority of people using the sim don't have any flying experience.

Broadie, check the weird triangular artifact which represents the floor space surrounding the first plane landing in that mission. I saw that weird triangle in mine when doing that mission and it's only on SP1 as well.

Glad to see that. Means it's not just me.
