*** Microsoft Windows 11 Thoughts & Discussion Thread ***

It's possible to bypass some of the requirements and install anyway.
If you'd rather look into that possibility, run WhyNotWin11 and post the result.
Problem with that is while Windows 11 is still in public beta MS could decide to not offer any more updates on machines that have bypassed the requirements, i don't think they would as there'd be uproar but the possibility is higher while it's still a preview release than when they finally get round to releasing an RC version.

That will probably be towards the end of next year when they finalise the LTSC release, hopefully then they'll stop adding and/or fiddling around with features.

I bet there's millions of devices bypassing requirements. I think they might stop feature updates once LTSC comes out but not security ones. By then I will move over to LTSC.

Would it be possible to roll back to Windows 10 if they did stop supporting Windows 11 users who bypassed the requirements.
The files used to roll back to earlier versions of Windows are deleted after so many days so this would not be possible.

As mentioned though you can do a clean install

hmm no update for me it seems, installed some update but it didn't change anything, guess that wasn't it
The update is this one:

2023-09 Cumulative Update Preview for Windows 11 Version 22H2 for x64-based Systems (KB5030310)

Yeah I genuinely have the update installed, but none of the changes I expected are visible. No taskbar ungrouping, no layers in paint, no copilot.

OK I see what's happening...

[see comments]

The update is rolling out as expected, but the features within it aren't immediately enabled for everyone. Microsoft is turning the features on based on an unknown rollout schedule.

I had the same - if you've already installed the update, you then need to tick "Get the latest updates as soon as they're available" (assuming you have this unticked, then check for updates twice - you should then be offered the "Windows Configuration Update"
