Middle-Earth: Shadow of Mordor

I'd also be very interested in this, as I'm running the exact same card, and have been debating whether to pick this up or not.

I'm running 1440p and it runs great on a single 7970 using High Textures and everything else maxed. I'm getting ~45-50fps, but its very smooth. Struggles with Ultra Textures though. In xfire mode, its better on Ultra, but you do get frame drops when panning, which is probably due to vram caching. Having said that xfire isnt officially supported yet.

I love the game, but boy am I struggling.

There is a captain who is stalking me, he can only be damaged by range which sucks as I haven't upgraded my elf shot so during fight I have to find more elf shot, in which he starts regenerating hp and I am back to square one. He also runs extremely fast, and has a poison weapon which nearly kills me in 1 hit. He always appears, it's like he's actively hunting me. I think he is about level 20 now.

Brilliant game though, the combat is so fluid. The camera sucks in combat when you go near a wall though. Too slow to move around.

So there I was happily beating the crap out of a captain and his boys, when another THREE captains and their boys turn up out of nowhere...

Cue me running away and hiding in the bushes :o

I don't know how people play this kind of game (along with Batman or Assassin's Creed) with a KB/M tbh.
Pad all the way for me :)

The keyboard and mouse controls on this are far easier than the batman games equivalents thankfully. Very easy to remember and the constant prompting is also welcome so I remember how to do instant kills and brutalise etc.

About 14hrs in now, and 30% done. I managed to sort out all the warchiefs.

All I can say is say is stalk them from the roof pick off his mates, get him alone and ****Fully star out all swear words**** him up with arrows and finisher moves. Kill his captains too from afar if they don't have arrow resis.

The 2nd zone is stunning. For some reason this game is starting to feel a lot like the witcher now. Gorgeous immersive gameplay. The story isn't as bad as they make it out either. If you like Lord of the rings you will get far more out of this than a laymen. The lore is very heavy and the background chatter references a lot of the lore. So if you like LOTR get this pronto.

Really enjoying it so far. Played about 6 hours but only done like 3% lol I've been having a blast just going around smashing orcs up and stuff :D

Loving it as well, played maybe 3 hours and I have completed the first main mission section. Been too busy hunting captains, collecting the wraith stone wall things, memory items and generally exploring the whole area...

Can see me actually completing a game for once :)

Crossfire users, make a CCC profile targeting ShadowOfMordor.exe, disable framepacing and use AFR friendly xfire mode.

The menus will flicker badly, but you'll get proper usage from your cards with perhaps the occasional bit of flickering ingame.
Not ideal, though I'm sure we'll have a proper profile at some point.

It's possible to change your ingame settings with all the flickering, but you may find it easier to change them when in single card mode and then switch to the xfire profile.

I wondered why my menus where all buggered up, I'm on a 7990 on board xfire is different to standalone cards iirc? would i benefit from making a ccc profile, both cores are working on mine but them menus are bloody annoying.

Make a CCC profile for this with xfire disabled.
Use that to change your settings without menu flickering, then exit the game and change it to AFR friendly.

Loving this game but my God massive finger strain ! I've had to go put my fingers in a warm bath as they hurt so much from bashing non stop :(
Happened to me on the day of release. I was using the 360 controller so much that my left hand index finger was in sheer pain the following day. There was me preferring to use the controller as I knew the game would be torture on a keyboard!
