Midweek Football Spoilers 28/29th Oct

Firstly, what a match; you can talk aabout mistakes and all, but for a neutral it was simply awesome watching.

Secondly, two questions for Spurs fans. Firstly, why on earth is Corluka in central defence? He's awful! When I saw him at Man City he looked useful on the right, very elegant player. He's completely at sea at centre back though. His defending was never really good enough for a right back. Also, simple question : why Gomes?

Just got back from watching the spurs game, absolutely brilliant show. What a goal from Bentley, he's really been showing what he's made of since Harry's opened up his role. Loving the fact that all our goals came from Englishmen too. Hutton and Gomes both need to shape up quick or be replaced in Jan, I'd say the same for Almunia. A 1-1 draw against Chelski and now this at the Emirates, surely now the only way is up. :D

Edit - Not sure if anyone's seen this but I always found it hard to find highlights right after games until I found this.... ;)

Wigan in dire trouble, team is not performing and all this hype over zaki he has scored 4 in 2 games so hardly. Just need to get a few wins behind us.

i hope your still active on this forum come May 2009

Oh dont worry about that:p

I still stand by my point, you guys have no leader on the pitch (injured players dont count),a truly dire keeper, and no backbone, if Harry puts those things right, then yeah you have a chance.

Problem is, youve had this situation for a season and a bit now, I remember when Ramos came, you had a few decent results and then you back into normal Spurs mode.

Amazing game. I don’t recall ever watching a north London derby game like that.

Spurs looked a different side last night. I thought Modric and Bentley were both superb. Pvalyuchenko looked out of place and I’m not comfortable with Gomes in goal. What on earth is going on with these keepers not collecting the ball? I'm hoping he'll be replaced come the transfer window.

Arsenal looked pretty average to me.. nothing special and certainly not a championship winning side.

Anyway Arsenal, you have just conceded 9 goals against Spurs in two games.

Well done lads!

I give them 2 more games till they start playing like crap again. Its the same old same old for when a new manager arrives.

Dont get your hopes up. You will still be playing cov again next season!

Watching Gomes pre-season (went to the Roma game) and all the hype behind him he should be very good at set plays and coming off his line to collect. Apparently he is nicknamed 'The Octopus' because of this, however the coming off the line thing is correct, though he needs to pick his moments a bit more carefully , as he is tending to flap at the ball too much, a lot like Robinson used to.

Overall though i am well pleased, i dont care how much luck we had, at the end of the day a draw is a draw and that is what counts and at least they showed the backbone and determination to try and get back in the game as opposed to folding.

We were watching two different games. :)

Last 20 of the first and for 44mins of the second half Arsenal dominated the game.

Spurs didn't look like getting back in it and barely raised a fight (Fabregas and Denilson were winning 50/50's with players twice there size in the middle of the park) until Clichy slipped (by which point we should have had another goal or two). To say that it was anything more than a freak result is optimistic at best.

Great game though.

If I was Arsene I would have marched the players out to the gates last night and made them apologise to every fan as they left. Its not a problem if he wasn't making claims about our trophy chances this season but the fact that he is and then the players throw games like they did last night (its not the first time) is arse.

After the match Arsene seemed to indicate that we were lax after going 4-2 up and should have pushed on. Bloody hell how many goals lead do we need!! Maybe showing the Chelsea v Liverpool game to the players will give them some idea how to win a game from these positions.

Highlight of the night? Harry's face during the second half. What an absolute misery.
