Midweek Football *SPOILERS* 3/4 March

Annoying when you consider Anderson, after 2 months out was probably the best player on the park in the Carling Cup final. The boy has more talent in his little finger than Darren '5 touches' Fletcher does in his whole body. I really don't understand why Anderson isn't starting, he has more physical presence, ability to pass first time, ability to pick the pass, pace, power and he can tackle too. Fletcher prances around like bambi with his 5 touches til he gets pressured then panics and passes it to the opposition - he really can't shift the ball quickly.

He probably isnt anywhere near match fit - the CC Cup final was touch and go that Anderson would even make it until a few days before, and with the weather not being great I would have been surprised if Anderson had played.

Im sure he will play in the Cup at Cravern Cottage at the weekend

All of which was better than what Keane was producing. Kuyt may miss hit his shots but at least he hits the ball. The amount of air shots from Keane was shocking. But i suppose Keane scoring 1 goal for Spurs makes him a superstar now :p

No, but what we've seen Keane do his whole career makes him a better choice. He's clearly a top player, but was played wrong and left with no confidence. Ferguson did the same thing with Forlan, so I know what I'm talking about. You're just acting all ignorant on the matter.

If you still had Keane you would definitely be in a better position.

Exactly, it was touch and go and he still shone. He's THAT good :D.

I can't even be arsed to defend Keane or put Benitez's treatment of him down.

Keane having a hand in all 4 goals says it all.

to be fair Lennon getting goals says it all for me, I've only ever seen Lennon play well(with an end product) against sides playing so badly the manager is about to get fired.................

I jest, mostly because I couldn't see the stream for very long, but Boro looked pretty terrible. Really thats just a possible explanation for this game, personally I think Keane is class, thought Rafa did completely misuse him, but the teams set up for one person to be the big star and no one else will fit in, they play a very set style of football and Keane tends to play great off another striker who makes the right runs and can have some interplay with him, which is not what I'd describe Torres as at all, he's a poacher not a provider. With Berbatov the interplay was what made them both so effective in the team, it wasn't set up to provide one player with tap ins but to play creative footie. Keane will score loads for you again and Rafa will get slated when Keane scores against Liverpool and we'll all laugh.

So it was a red then? What did he get away with?
I'm saying it could have been a red, I've seen reds for less.

You mean best individual performance or best team performance?
Best team performance I've seen from your players. Of which Smith was the pick of the bunch.

You had more freedom in the last ten mins because we went for it, you were counterattacking with lots of space, which is what you'd expect.
No, we had more time to turn on the ball, look up and pick a pass.

I think in the end Rafa had to sell him when Keane told him to **** off when he was asked to become a left sided defensive midfielder to compliment the wizard on the opposite flank, Kuyt. It ended the relationship and Liverpool sold him. You heard it here first. ;)

Whole career? Or a couple of seasons with Spurs?

I thought he'd be a top player too but he was terrible but because it's knock Rafa season and because he's from the British Isles, it's not his fault that he missed from 2 yards on countless occasions.

Everybody last season was slating Rafa when he played Voronin, yet Voronin's goals to games ratio was the same as Keane despite playing outwide on several occasions and most of his appearances were as a sub too.

It's simple, Keane was rubbish for us and there's nothing to suggest that we'd be in a better position than we are now had he stayed.

I very much doubt he will, there's rumours Dean Windass is being looked at again.

isn't he having too much fun pretending to be a keeper in the lower leagues though? you probably get away with drinking more between games and probably turning up to training hungover, you wouldn't be able to pry him away :p

Either he is woeful in training of P Brown doesn't want to give him a chance. Some lower standard managers often don't trust talent, Alan Pardrew didnt even give mascherano a chance at all and only started Tevez in the second half of the season.

Manucho could have course be a bag of **** but he is strong, good in the air and relatively pacey.

Brown's unlikely to play both Manucho and Cousin at the same time though, and prior to his recent injury, there was no reason the latter deserves to be benched. As for Windass, with Fagan back, I don't see it happening.

He'll never make it with Man Utd. The fact he has been loaned out reinforces this as I can't remember a player of his age being loaned out to come back and feature in the first team before.

Didn't say he would make it at United, but that does not mean he won't make it at another prem team.

Oh and I'd put money on Newcastle going down, thier remaining fixtures are solid :D

Although he doens't look good enough for you, he's still got enough about him to get a move to a bigger club than Hull (no disrespect meant).

It doesn't bode well for young strikers with us when you look at the players we've had up front for the last 20 odd years, all bought. None from the academy. You'd have to be a real peach of a forward to fully break into first team football at Old Trafford.
