Midweek Football *SPOILERS* 3/4 March

He'll never make it with Man Utd. The fact he has been loaned out reinforces this as I can't remember a player of his age being loaned out to come back and feature in the first team before.

I think loaning someone out at that age when you just got him is more to do with wanting to see how they do in the league and with several months competing for a first team place in this league. He's not 17, so he doesn't have 4 years to watch him train him and see if he's good, at 25 its do or die really, go out on loan, fight hard under a little less pressure and with a reality of getting games and see how it goes.

Not saying he'll make it but its not the usual get rid of him by loaning him out to get games to entice offers.

Pardew is fairly crap but Brown doesn't seem a manager remotely as crap as him, infact he put his faith in a lot of players like gio(whose since turned crap again). Also to be fair to Pardew there was lots of unrest at West Ham and it seems like Macherano never wanted to be there, he also played utter crap when he did play for them(mostly) and Tevez was shockingly poor early season aswell. Not many managers would have played either of those two in other words.

It doesn't bode well for young strikers with us when you look at the players we've had up front for the last 20 odd years, all bought. None from the academy. You'd have to be a real peach of a forward to fully break into first team football at Old Trafford.

It's the same with every big club these days. We've got a few youngsters coming through at the moment who possibly could make it but unfortunately with the size of squads these days it takes a lot of injuries for a youngster to get his chance.

If only Rafa trusted Insua earlier then we wouldn't have wasted £6m on that fat Italian. If Pacheco wasn't the size of a 10 year old then we may not have wasted £19m on Keane too ;)

Although he doens't look good enough for you, he's still got enough about him to get a move to a bigger club than Hull (no disrespect meant).
Oh most likely, but he's not going to get a move to anywhere like that while he's still warming the bench at Tottenham or Man Utd. He'd have been a certain starter at Hull, and it would have given people the chance to see if he could cut it against Premiership teams regularly.

History especially under Ferguson shows me that players loaned out like this never come back and do anything. He's in the shop window.

Don't worry you'll probably sell Dossena on for a profit. :p

Oh and I'd put money on Newcastle going down, thier remaining fixtures are solid :D

just had a look, pool, chelsea, Arsenal, but they've got Stoke, pompie, Hull and spurs, who are all dodgey as hell, definately beatable on a good day and vital points to take off those teams.

Its gonna be almost impossible at this stage to see whose going down. I think I did predict Wba(ok thats barely a prediction), Boro and Blackburn. Well I know it was blackburn and wba, I think the other was boro, mighta been spurs though.

yes and no, as I was getting at, players loaned out have normally been at the club for years, after having years to prove themselves and their potential. This case is fairly unique in that he's just arrived. if that was the case i'd fully agree with you, but I think with his age and length of career left rather than risk an untested player he's wanting to see how he does under real appearances.

if you had to name another player you bought, sent out on loan shortly after and came back and did anything..... theres one name that comes to mind, ignoring age but same(ish) situation.

Also remember he's a left winger, and a certain someone might have expected another certain someone to have continued his loss of form and have retired or been retiring soon. So when Giggs finally kicks the bucket you might have a in form, premiership ready left winger ready to step in as a squad player. two years ago it very much looked liked Giggs wouldn't have more than another year in him, early this season it didn't look like it, only the past 2-3 months has he actually been back to.. not his best, but pretty solid at the very least.

I see your point in the fact that he's barely been at the club before being loaned out and it gives Ferguson a chance to see him play. What player are you thinking of? Richardson? :p

Manucho is a forward not a left winger, we just signed Tosic who is a left winger so it's highly unlikely that I'll ever see him play on the left for us if/when he returns from the loan.

Richardson :p

a certain Mr beckham though ;) and o'shea, foster aswell maybe.

in case you missed it I edited previous post aswell in regards to Giggs and why maybe he was loaned out, rather than pay him to be a bench warmer till he's gone, have Hull pay him :p

Ugly scenes at half-time

This is the witty exchange that was overheard between Cristiano Ronaldo and Steven Taylor in the players’ tunnel at half-time last night, shortly after the Newcastle United defender had been cautioned for a rugged challenge on the Portugal forward. Ronaldo: “You’re a rubbish footballer.” Taylor: “At least I’m not ugly.” Ronaldo: “But you’re a rubbish footballer.” Taylor: “I know, but you’re still ugly.”

:D :D

Different circumstances with the likes of Beckham though, 6/7 yrs younger than Manucho, monitored from the age of 10, and through all the youth ranks at Man Utd before being loaned out for a short stint. Very much still in the development stage of his career.

My memory may be hazy on this one, but Richardson didn't make it at Man Utd. :p And Manucho is a forward not a left winger, or am I reading your edit wrong?

hahahah, that is quality.

Thing is Ronaldo will still get much hotter women than Taylor because of his fame/ability, Taylor is a muppet, but its offical from the horses mouth, Taylor is crap at football.

Taylor would floor him outside of football though, Ronaldo is too cheeky.

A better reply would have been you're no Messi yourself mate. :p

he's both, been left wing a lot of his career, hence two years ago with Giggs looking 2 matches from giving up he might have been cover/first team rotation along with Nani. Giggs screwed them both with his revival :p

ALso yes, Beckham was monitored but to be honest plenty of kids look superb at 10 and are crap in a real game of men playing footie. Same way manucho must have been monitored but what you get from watching him play in a girls league isn't what you need. Ignoring his age its the same situation a player brought in who the manager wants to see play some real games, get some experience and bring them back. its less about the age and more about the time they've been at United, the kids like Chadwick, Richardson and loads others are generally players that have been around for ages rather than a month before being loaned out. First loan was due to work permit, Giggs coulda screwed up the rest ;)

I dunno, for all we know Ronaldo can take a punch and is a great fighter and a real man..................... when a ref's not around.

Though saying that we've all seen the shorts he wears on holiday, ok not a "real man" but something closer to one than on the pitch :p
