Midweek Football Thread - 18th/19th

What was it that Van Der Vaart was quoted at?? 6 million or something silly like that. Absolute bargain for anyone for that kind of price.

I think it would be closer to 10 if we went for him, but I still say he's worth twice that in todays market. Just the sort of player we need, confident on the ball in the final third, can score and set up goals.

He's made a fantastic start to his Liverpool career and will certainly help pick up points against the likes of Stoke. Whether he'll be worth the fee or not is a question to be asked at the end of the season.

Good start but nothing unexpected. We all knew he was very good going forward, the real test will be when we're up against it away from home in Europe etc.

What was ferguson thinking playing owen ahead of berbatov at the start...These are the games man utd need berba most when teams are in man utd's face giving them no time at all

berba can hold up ball slow the game down big time! giving man utd to settle down and get into their rhythm.

burnley were solid tho not looking foward to when arsneal face them at their ground.

Arsene shouldn't make the mistake of playing a weakened team.

Sucks to be a United supporter tonight :(

Starting to predict a long hard season for us which after a really good performance against Chelsea I wouldn't have thought I'd of been saying 2 weeks later :(

Only minor negative is Ayala; he's done ok in overall but a few times he's looked a bit edgy and given away needless throws in and around the box when he could have let it run through to Reina. As well as Johnson, Masch has had a decent half, much better than on Sunday.

Ayala played? He was dreadful last season in the FA Youth Cup. In the first leg he should have been sent off twice in the first half alone. He had no pace, the other CB was better and he was being released.

I believe they were due to play Arsenal but arranged the money spinner when Arsenal had to postpone due to Euro commitments.

Arsenal were suppose to play Bolton

Only minor negative ??? where you there tonight ? not at the match obviously .... what more could he have done ? he's a kid thrown into a prem match and did his job above what was expected..

:sigh:
