Midweek Football Thread *spoilers*

I'm a bit confused, do you think he's doing this as a favour to man utd? as in, if he were playing chelsea tonight he'd have a full strength team out?

No, I think he's doing it because Wolves have important games coming up. The problem however is that on paper, its an easy 3 points for United and gives them a tiny advantage in the race for the title. If it were Chelsea or any other strong team tonight I'd wager he'd do exactly the same as on paper, its not a "winnable" game. It just shifts the balance of power a little.

This is a bit different though. League Winners, they've got nothing to play for. McCarthy is effectively handing a result to United here and you can bet he won't show the same courtesy to the other title contenders.

Saying that, I do agree with your point about the rotation system and how it allows for this. 10 players is however, a very excessive use of this rule.

As for Cheesey, I'd gladly take over her job if she ever steps down and I spout more rubbish than she does!

Mick McCarthy is a staunch Yorkshireman, he had a major public fallout with our club captain, I can't see him doing MU any favours tbh.

Although, he is Irish :/

Rooney should be burying those chances :(

and again :( Two chances from a few yards out, that's where his game falls down, his sonversion rate just isn't high enough compared to the likes of Torres and Drogba.
