Military coup in Turkey?

Also, just thinking, what happened to Erdogans ban on street protests? He appears to be having second thoughts on that one.

It's almost like having "must stay in power" as the number one objective doesn't lead to effective well thought through policies.

Terrible from Erdogan. I know he's desperate but you don't go imploring people to go and protest in places where the military are at a time like this.

That went out the window, it seems!

If people come out in large numbers, the coup is almost guaranteed to fail.

The military are hardly going to kill civilians.

Yep, a call to supporters against the army could easily end in a bloodbath.

What a week.

That speech from Erdogan sounds to me like the plea of a desperate man? I'm no expert in this, I'm an accountant, but surely encouraging your citizens onto the street against an armed security force doesn't sound like something a responsible leader would do.

i don't think Erdogan and responsible leader have been used in the same sentence ever.
