Minecraft (online Lego essentially)

Good work Rroff.

Sorry droony but your claim was just way too large. Another vote here for no claims boundaries, if you want to do a big building then set foundations for it so no one builds on it. There's no need to claim a massive chunk of land then leave it.

I also liked the idea of a flattish map with street layout and each person getting a reasonable sized plot like 30x30 or so.

EDIT: Server seems to be down atm.

Gonna add a bit more to the sky scraper later.. maybe make a tower next to it.. One question my land is currently surrounded by peoples claiming? Anyone doing anything with the yellow blocks ? can i move them a little? if not all is cool

I just get this error when I try and connect to the server via the URL

"org.lwjgl.LWJGLException: Pixel format not accelerated"

Maybe this laptop can't run a Java app :/ I have no idea.

EDIT - by the look of the game I cannot see why a GM945 intergrated intel card cannot play this game.

google suggests its a graphics driver issue but im using the latest windows 7 drivers for this lappie.

Is the server down, I've followed the link in roff's trust as I did before but this time it just loads up a single player game :(

Yep , server had crashed , it didn't restart itself either , but rroff should have more info. I just restarted it so it should work for now :)

Server is online :D

Looks like its crashing quite a bit with the larger map :( - a few people have the ability to restart the server tho.

EDIT: The minecraft developer is suggesting that the map will need 1024Mb of free RAM to have any guarantee it will run crash free - which I don't have - my main server only has 700Mb free, the rest less, and the VPS less than 200Mb free.

What I will probably do is move the big map back to the original server and people will have to live with the odd crash (or host it themselves :P) and use the new VPS for a smaller themed map and a teamspeak server.

Just found a program which shows map files , here's a top view of the old old map :

and the old map :

Id like a themed/realistic map too, it would be a lot more interesting to build.

Also, the server seems to be down for me. Is it really down, or have I missed out on a new URL?

A themed map would be much better.
I won't be around for a few days, but will be back to help the digging soon :)
Looking at that old old map brings back some good memories, remember the mushroom cloud cowell?
The bloke that is developing this earned my cash there and them tbh
