Minecraft (online Lego essentially)

So single player mode... is that basically me and the bots (ie Animals and Monsters?)

Or can I invite a friend in to help and share my base :D

Part of me thinks get it.

I recommend you clean that cave out, then go on the look for another. Some caves are just littered with Iron.

If I want to start looking for a new place to make a mine, do you have any tips on how I should keep track of locations? My current mine/storage building is close to the spawn, so if I should die it is viewable from the spawn location, but if I go out looking for someplace new, i'm not sure of the best way to mark it so I can get back there again if I die.

As for the diamonds, I must have just got lucky, I found 3 diamond sections of rock and each dropped 2 diamonds. I've used all the diamonsd now though, I made 2 pickaxes to speed up mining (I go through a ton of picks as I don't like to waste iron on them as I need that for other stuff). If diamond is that rare perhaps I should save it from now on.

Eventully I would like to be able to create several mines and just link them with track and carts to get my equipment from one place to the next, but so far I don't have the iron for track so I have to walk everywhere, which also means getting lost.

Leave towers as you go, just in sight of each other. And stick a few torches are the top so you can see them at night :)

I want to start playing again, but Im probably going to have to delete my save when Notch releases biomes :(

Leaving hundreds of breadcrumb torches isn't a bad way of doing it, but it's now possible to craft a compass that points to the spawn point itself.
I think you put a redstone in the middle and Steel top, left, right and bottom.

I usually spend my Diamond on Pickaxes too, and although it feels like a waste when you burn them down, you also find stuff faster.

I boo boo'd earlier with Diamonds, tried harvesting 2 with a stone pickaxe :( Which means they just get lost as you have to harvest them with an Iron or Diamond pickaxe to harvest the ore :(

I could host one at work, if someone could send me a server config.

Only on a 10/10mb line but it handles 24 player TF2 fine so should handle a fe wof us on MC :D
