Monaco Grand Prix 2011, Monte-Carlo - Race 6/19

Just watched the entire quali, race and forum on iPlayer as I've been away for a few days.

I think Brundle said it best, Hamilton always seems to blame someone else for everything. No doubt he's a huge talent but he comes across as a massive whining prima-donna, and a bad loser. Look at Button, he's the complete polar opposite in terms of his attitude.

I just cringed when they interviewed Lewis after the race, the unbelievable crassness of his comments made me sick. The race card?! Lol, seriously - even in jest that isn't funny.

Then to try and apologise to his fans in text speak, yeah ok then. Sorry but he needs to grow up, or keep his mouth shut.

Although I'm a fan of Hamilton, I completely agree.

In fairness text speak is quite common on Twitter due to the limitations on characters. Twitter has brought something back that had gradually faded over the last 5 years as text messages became cheaper.

If there were still spare characters however then he should be burned at the stake as text talk is one of my all time hates after child molesters and people who talk at the theatre.

Also a very interesting comparison from NathanE on the two overtakes at turn 1. looking at that you have to say Hamilton has a bit of a point.

I agree with just about all you said, I think though we don't understand is how pampered these young guys like lewis have been. To keep them happy, to stop them going anywhere else no one ever tells them no.

In that respect it's not all Lewis fault. He's always had the best. He turned up with funding and never learnt to lose with dignity.

You always hear from commentators what an intelligent youngman he is etc, then you see the text speak again. :D

I think Brundle was being over critical, he blamed the other drivers and had a rant about the stewards. He's admitted in the past when its been his fault and apologised to the team and fans in the process.

Perhaps he shouldn't have been so crass about it but i didn't see him blaming anyone else other than those debatably responsible.

But yes, txt speak

I can't wait to see if it is, I still don't believe what someone said earlier that it's all down to the EBD and they will struggle to get podiums.

I don't think they'll struggle to get podiums but their advantage in qualifying wont be as extreme.

I can't see anything affecting RBR that much. I can't see it being down to one thing. Just a little hear and there but all working together. It might bring them closer in reach, but I still think they will be fastest. Only time will tell.

For example if EBD is giving them a bit, then they might have to run a more normal rear wing, which will lose qualifying pace, but could give them an even bigger advantage in the race.

Brundle is good but he's not that good. He was overly harsh on Petrov when he put his car airborne and subsequently made a slight apology the next race saying he was "too harsh on him".

He was way too harsh on Lewis for this race. Perhaps some sour grapes creeping in to his commentary because Lewis didn't pick him as his manager?

At the start of the race he said he was having problems keeping up as Monaco wasn't usually this fast paced and interesting. And then subsequently has a good moan about one of those drivers that helped make the race seem fast paced and interesting.

If Brundle doesn't put some of his comments right then it's pretty much certain he will be on Hamilton's **** list when it comes to any grid walks. Just like he is on Schumi's.

I still think there is nobody better qualified and positioned for Brundle's job though. He is awesome.

Brundle good grid walk.
Terrible commentator, just listen to r5l one weekend. And you'll suddenly realise how terrible he is.

And how the hell do you reply to something on twitter?

Pretty certain that from day one of his formula one career, hamilton has never wanted to talk to tv reporters before the race due to him considering it 'bad luck'. As for Schuey, well, in his first career, he wouldn't talk to anyone other than german tv, now, he is more friendly, but really still doesnt like talking to people.

Meh, Vettel's main advantage was rear grip so Alonso couldn't get him out of the final corner, errm, one(maybe two) people managed to overtake down the start finish straight, but for Vettel, in the fastest car its because of traction?

Its pretty simple, first out of the corner, first to get power down, theres smeg all else too it. Hamilton got a penalty for one overtake and Schumy thought better of it and let Hamilton through, most of the grid tried to catch the guy infront down their for most of the race and had zero luck.

Vettel's speed was hard to judge, they put the wrong tyres on, he pulled out 5 second on Button without breaking a sweat, then rested his tyres, Button gained but had to pit early, Vettel on the right tyres, supersofts again, would have pulled out yet more time and not having to nurse the softs through such a ridiculously long stint, Button wouldn't have gained time so easily.

ANyway, wasn't Alonso dropping back just before the red flag, and when he was closer he'd basically shown no indication of being able to overtake Vettel. Despite what Alonso said I really didn't see any chance of him doing a Hamilton manouvre to pass him, not throwing away 2nd place.

As for those saying Hamilton needs to be more like Button, without by far the fastest car for 2/3rd's of the season Button won't ever win anything ever again.

Hamilton's attitude is found in most of the previous title winners who didn't have literally no competition, most people with Button's calmness and lack of risk taking.......... win nothing, that makes up the majority of F1 drivers.

Brundle's a pratt, I hate his grid walk, other than walking up and down acting better than everyone else due to his vast success in F1..... no thats it.

Getting someone in who was actually a great F1 driver or actually a commentator would be so much better.

For me Brundle, like on his opinion of Hamilton's attitude is basing everything, essentially from a "losers" perspective.

He was red headed.......very very angry, but come on. he has a point, this weekend has been a joke from start to finish.

cos im black???? thats a joke people should forget those words he said.

I have a feeling that he knows whats going on with redbull engine map.....

lol Brundle's commentating is about as hot headed as Hamiltons post race interviews!

I enjoy his grid walks but his inability to be partial along with David "All hail Red Bull" Coulthard is making for some painful television

he makes light of the fact aswell like its something to be proud of..

usually insults him during the races etc.... says hes no good at overtaking then the next race he will be praising him for his racecraft etc

i suspect hes going senile he obviously isnt capable of keeping up with whats going on anymore and he honstly doesnt seem that intrested in F1 like he used to be.

time for someone else to take his place imo
