Monzo/Starling Banking/Revolut

Ah, so if I exchange for Euros in the app then the local ATM will just dispense the Euros without any requirement for converting? That sounds good - is there an ATM withdrawal limit?
ATM is 5 withdrawals upto £200 per month; after that it's a quid and a percent iirc.

Better to exchange to euros and use contactless where ever you can.

What's the best option for ATM withdrawals in Tenerife? I've got...

Starling
Monzo
Revolut
Bank of Scotland

Starling, but Monzo and Revolut will be fine too so long as you don't go over their small withdrawal limits. Bear in mind that that all will add loading if you withdraw on a weekend. Some are more upfront about it than others. Just withdraw in advance.

In Spain, look for a Deutsche Bank or ING as other ATMs often add their own fees.

Wife's getting a business account set up for her silversmithing business, is Monzo the still the go to for the free business bank accounts?

Much of a muchness. Though it's pretty funny that back when Tom Blomfield was in charge, he was asked about business bank accounts, and said Monzo would never do them and UK businesses would better be served by Tide. haha.

If she sells abroad, then it's worth bearing in mind that Monzo isn't connected to any networks such as SWIFT or SEPA, and doesn't have other currency accounts.

If she's solely dealing in the UK, it doesn't really matter much. Starling or Monzo would be fine.

She might as well also open up a Mettle account to make use of the free FreeAgent subscription for accounting and submitting tax returns.

I'm finding Chase to be hit and miss from an app usability point of view, especially coming from Monzo.

I get a notification saying "A Direct Debit worth £x from y company is due tomorrow, head over to the app to see the details". Clicking on the notification loads the app but doesn't take you to any part of the UI that shows an upcoming payment, and I can't see anywhere that shows this info when hunting around.

Any ideas? I'm on Android if that makes any difference.

On iOS, the “Payments” section at the bottom then has a “Scheduled“ tab at the top showing the scheduled payments and direct debits.

Thanks, I have that screen too but it just lists direct debits that have been set up and perhaps even the value of the last payment but it doesn't show what's coming up value wise and when (like the notification suggests it can).

For example in Monzo it'll say left to pay by x date (x date is set by the user when they want the reporting to reset, usually on pay day). Obviously these values are predicted based on prior payments, but you would also get a more accurate view in the current account a few days before the payment was due.

These values were in a greyscaled font, and I assume could be shown because direct debit details were updated a few days before they were taken. Hence why Monzo could send notifications to say x direct debit will be £x higher than usual.
