They absolutely will for some races, not for others. Singapore, Canada and a couple of others are very heavy on fuel and would absolutely be faster with more fuel in, others would be massively slower.

I've said time and time again, a fuel limit for the season with different length races and different styles of tracks is beyond absurd. It's also not really needed with a fuel flow limit, the fuel flow limit dictates what the perfect amount of fuel is to get round in the fastest time and changes on a per track basis. If they didn't have a fuel limit they would probably use say 105-110kg Singapore/canada, 70kg Monaco... 95kg somewhere else, 100kg at a couple of tracks.

But there are races where another 5-10kg of fuel would speed things up, only a small amount and it would barely be noticeable.

Limit the fuel for qualifying and the Race. Set a limit on the maximum amount that can be used, varying it depending on the track. And reduce that limit by 20 litres a season. Qualifying could be mixed up with drivers only being able to produce one flat out lap and if they run more laps in qualifying then they have less for the race.

Regarding the fuel flow limit, swap it round. Have an unlimited fuel flow limit, but a maximum amount of fuel. Teams could up the power if they have fuel to spare and allow drivers to really push and catch the drivers ahead of them. Then we'd see 1,000HP.

I have a suspicion that they are running short of money. No Daytona 24hr coverage and no Bathurst 12h coverage. I also heard today at work they didn't pay their carriage fees to Sky which is why they were removed from the EPG.

I stumbled across some Bathurst 12h highlights earlier in the week, but yeah there was no live coverage.

Guessed it was carriage fees related with Sky - similar happened with Freeview.

From this it appears that the French CEO might be throwing his toys out of the pram regarding carriage charges and the "little" channels like Motors TV getting bullied by the large telecoms companies like Sky...

Gotta say, this may well be the last nail in the coffin for my Sky subscription.

Last year I got rid of all subscription TV, cancelled the TV license and got netflix and amazon prime. Not regretted it. The only thing I ever watched live was F1 and now I prefer to catch-up the highlights when I come in from work on the Monday, the whole show just annoys me and wastes a Sunday.
