There was some talk that it would be Giovannazi over Fittipaldi, at least for the season if they can buy him out of his FE contract. He’s been woeful there so would probably love to jump ship back to F1.

BBC News - Nikita Mazepin would have to sign document forbidding supporting Russia to stay in F1

If he signs an agreement he's staying and he could still take part in the British GP...

Basically asking him to sign his death warrant. If he signs something about war in Ukraine and it's public knowledge he's not going to be able to go to back to Russia. Will probably also need to not touch door handles, wear underwear or drink tea in future either.

I suspect someone will sweep in on the back of the growing wave of publicity from filling the sponsorship gap left behind.
Let's face it, from a sporting perspective, this is great news anyway, we dump out a driver with little pedigree and replace them with someone who actually has some..

Indeed, not something to be gleeful about though. Another casualty of a despot dictator but one at least who still has his health and his house unlike many others..

Mazepin should never have been in F1, and Russian kleptocrat money should never have been accepted to buy him that seat. He and his father being booted is absolutely something to be gleeful about no matter the horrifying circumstances surrounding it.

I must admit i am very disappointed that Ferrari still intends to take the sponsorship money from Kaspersky and run this season with Kaspersky's name on their cars.
With all the talk about Haas and Mazepin, i'm amazed that Ferrari and Kaspersky has been ignored.

Good riddance to one of the worst drivers I have ever seen in F1. Does anybody think that Andretti could jump in to fill the funding gap along with a chosen american driver (Pietro Fittipaldi maybe?) to gain some experience before Andretti possibly joins in 2024? Apparently they have a insanely large pot of money behind them.

Fittipaldi is Brazilian. Colton Herta seems like the more likely candidate, or Logan Sargeant if he doesn't get a seat at Williams.

I share your disappointment, although I imagine they will start getting stick about that too; just look at the battering CocaCola, KFC and MaccieDs are getting on social media for continuing to trade in Russia. I guess the difference between Kaspersky and UralKali is that Kaspersky is a company built on the talent of its creators, whereas UralKali is an company stolen by from the Russian people by one of the kleptocrats. Kaspersky also has a more international profile with offices around the world, and technically operated via a UK holding company. Which all makes it a little less clear cut.

I'm guessing you're too young to have been watching F1 in the 90s or earlier? Some of the drivers the backmarker cars in the 90s would make Mazepin look like a world beater, and if you look back earlier you'll see similarly poor performances scattered throughout history (Al Pease being the most infamous).

As Mr Jack said, if Andretti come to F1 they'll be bringing Colton Herta with them, unless a more attractive offer comes in from a bigger team*.

* Unlikely as talent moving into F1 from Indycar has been hit and miss in the past (Jacques Villeneuve and Juan Pablo Montoya worked out well and were exciting from the off, whereas Alex Zanardi's return (he'd raced in F1 already) was nothing short of a disaster, bar one promising race in Monza, and the career (season) of Michael Andretti himself didn't go to plan (I feel rather harshly judged given his sole season in F1 was up against one of the all-time greats). Big teams will likely want to test out even the likes of Colton Herta in a B team first, though simulators might give enough feedback these days.

Edit: I assume that Fittipaldi will get the seat for a few races, unless funds come in from elsewhere for a qualifying driver. Fittipaldi hopefully isn't the long-term replacement for Mazepin, but he'll get the second test and a few early races in until Haas can negotiate someone more deserving of a race seat (if the car is competitive enough to have a chance of challenging for points).
