Hopefully opens up the driver market next season a bit more. I wonder whether Alonso will end up in that seat, I can't see Alpine wasting Piastri on the benches forever.

There are certainly loads of seats in WEC, maybe back to Ferrari for their Hypercar project?

Now I wonder who will take his place at AM.

Yeah I'm kinda wondering about his replacement too now, Mick Schumacher was mentioned earlier in the year - there doesn't seem like a lot of free drivers - could try and for Alonso again but I think he would be mad to leave Alpine for Aston.
Vettel was the face of all of their commercial/advertising stuff so I suppose they will want someone who can do that for them.

I used to hate Vettel when he was at the top. Annoying to say the least bit he has matured a lot over the years and is easily my favourite driver on the grid. Will be a shame to see him go.

I bought an Aston Martin Vettel hat earlier this year, it was half price. I said at the time it was probably half price 'cos he was going to leave at the end of the season.

I was right :)

Yup, exactly this. Once he left Red Bull, he changed completely.

Who will after Vettel’s seat? Not exactly a competitive car.

Anyone who isn't in F1 already, or is out of a seat at the end of the year, obviously. But, also, although Aston have been pants this season and poor last, they're a team with a lot of money behind them who have recruited a lot of talent recently and are investing heavily in new facilities. They're probably a better bet to reach the top than a lot of the midfield in the medium term.

Or they just weren't selling many because they are back of the grid :p

It would be a big ask of Mick to give up his Ferrari Academy option as he does want to drive for them at some point.

The Stroll ones were full price, it was just the Seb hats that were half price ;)

I've been looking back though, their pricing is very strange and seems to change regularly with some going on discount for a few days and some not. I paid £17.50 for a hat, the full price was £35 (lol), now some of them are discounted to £28, others aren't.

This came about because I threw away the couple of Jaguar F1 hats I had last year and needed one for my holiday last week.

Probably to do with stock levels as well. If they have hundreds they may reduce the price to sell more.

Sebastian Vettel retiring at the end of the season:

End of an era. Disliked him at Red Bull, but grew to love him post RB era. He has a great sense of humour and is one of the few left who will speak out and doesn’t give a crap about what the FIA think. He’s made a fortune, has a gorgeous car collection and seems to have a happy family, so he’ll no doubt have a great time post F1.

I hope Sky replace Meme Boy with Seb from next season.

If he does do TV, I expect he'll be on Sky Deutschland or possibly Sky Switzerland rather than Sky UK, but given he's said he wants to leave F1 to spend more time with his family I can't see him jumping into another role that needs him to travel all the time.

It’s only of Red Bull Technologies which makes the engines (and other bits). Assume they will rebrand that to Porsche.

I'm sure that Honda are immensely happy about their IP being handed over to Porsche....

Its not being handed over though is it? Red Bull Technologies don't own any of the IP to the Honda engines, the head of Honda confirmed a few weeks ago (At Austria GP I believe) that they never completed the deal to transfer the IP.

Red Bull Technologies will be solely working on their new Porsche partnership with Honda looking after the "Honda" engines until 2026, I fully expect to see the "Honda" engines branded as Honda on that Red Bull next until 2025

Red Bull Technologies is the holding company of Red Bull Racing i.e. the "F1 Team" and are responsible for the Chassis

Red Bull Powertrains as far as I understand is part of the separate holding company "Red Bull Advanced Technologies" (also responsible for things like the
Aeroscreen and Aston Martin Valkyrie), owned directly by the parent company Red Bull GmbH, and so are nothing to do with this deal.

In February 2021, Red Bull Advanced Technologies signed an exclusive distribution agreement for Formula One engines with Honda to start in the 2022 season, after the Japanese automaker left Formula One at the end of the 2021 season.[2] The engines will be purchased and renamed Red Bull Powertrains, and supplied to its two teams currently competing in Formula One, Red Bull Racing and Scuderia AlphaTauri, starting in 2022. The presence of Red Bull Powertrains from 2022 onwards marked the first time an independent engine manufacturer participated in Formula One since Cosworth in 2013.[citation needed]

I'm not thinking of a full time role at the circuits - The last couple of times they've used Nico, he's been a talking head, working from what I assume is his home. That sort of thing might be possible.

Nico is banned from the paddock so yeah, he's doing it from home. I'd much rather see Seb than Nico do that role but I can see Seb cutting ties with F1 at the end of the season.

I'll miss Seb when he is gone. I grew a strong dislike for him at Red Bull but as soon as he wore Red I became a huge fan (think it says more about RB than Seb). When all is said and done, he was sublime for those 4 years.
