I know that anything other than F1 basically gets ignored in this forum but crazy finish to the NASCAR race just now. Ross Chastain with a desperate last corner move straight from the Gran Turismo playbook

THAT'S INSANE - that's totally crazy and unreal that he thought to do that..... Amazing....

Must have pinned the steering forwards, any movement steering could have sent him anywhere. Love it.

Woke up this morning from a dream where there had just been an announcement that Jenson Button was coming out of retirement and had been signed to Red Bull

Redbull team decided to make a statement and not speak to sky F1 team at all "indefinitely" as reported somewhere on my social media feed! Thinking this must be heaven I dug deeper and sadly they only are throwing their toys out of the pram for the Mexico weekend. It has to do with Ted speaking the truth, saying that Hamilton was robbed of the title last year. Redbull found this "disrespectful". The truth of his asterisk title starting to hurt.

It is disrespectful when you're supposed to be neutral.

Don't blame them, Sky is becoming a painful listen with that lot.

I’m not saying he was, I’m saying Bottas and Rosberg were the only ones during the hybrid era who could have challenged him. Up until 2021, no team had the car and team competency to compete.

He only really had to race one other car, which is probably Alonso’s point.

That makes no sense. Did you not read the list of years that he was not only fighting his teammate for the title?

It’s factual, speaking the truth as much as it may offend some is not wrong. As long as it is factual then you have to take it on the chin and move on. Max likes to portray the tough man who shrugs things off, obviously not quite as tough as he likes to portray.

Wasn’t Christian Horner complaining about employees mental health and how it was unfair to throw accusations only a week or so ago. He then singles someone out who themselves has young children at school who could be open to bullying over this…

Let's face it, that was mainly due to Botas not being that good. In real terms the only other car that could have seriously challenge him was the 2nd merc. Yes Seb got relatively close in 2017 but 2018 he was nearly 100 points behind.

Lewis couldn't have possibly been robbed because he never had it in the first place, if we're being factual.

Who 'robbed' him of it - the FIA or Red Bull?

Did you not read what I said?

I'm not saying he actually had to fight them or that they challenged him, but that they were the only ones realistically able to challenge him for the title outside of that one year with Vettel for Ferrari, and 2021.

You know exactly what the term robbed means and its context. Also you know full well who robbed him of it barring something equally crazy happening on the last lap from the driver or his car.

The facts are that the FIA employee created his own never used interpretation of the rules which benefited redbull and the driver(but you know that) hence the term robbed.

Funnily enough I do, and I would say it doesn't apply here because Lewis was in position to win the championship but never had it for it to be robbed.

I may be wrong but I'm sure Masi interpreted it differently from how others would due to the wording of the rule.

The FIA changed the rules so how did Max/Red Bull 'rob' Lewis? It's just getting incredibly tiresome listening to people still go on about last year.

The worst part about F1 now isn't Red Bull, Max, the FIA etc. It's 100% the fans.

It really isn’t that complex, when someone has something taken away from them by unfair means the term is they were robbed. If a football team is winning one nil and in the last second the opposition team is given a contentious penalty and scores the term used again is that they were robbed. The problem to me is that some fans are running from the truth as it offends who they follow.
I have a feeling we are going to go round in circles here, so I will respect your view and get back to my chores :)

Fair enough, I should probably get some work done! :D

Nothing personal, just really ****** me off how nearly every discussion anywhere F1-related ends up turning into a RB bashing thread.

Also clarifying the fact I'm not a RB/Max fan - been following McLaren since '97 when I was 5 years old!

Did Ted say Max or Red Bull robbed Hamilton? Or just a general Hamilton was robbed?

The former is understandable that they don't want to talk to him. The later though, Hamilton was robbed but by Masai and the FIA, so Red Bull shouldn't be so sensitive about it.

Unless there's some pressure from elsewhere, following the cost cap report that Red Bull are feeling, about having now won 2 questionable championships.
