Headline: “Shock, as a British paper looks to perpetuate narrative to fill sports pages!”

The ironic thing about this is, as we saw last year, it doesn’t affect RBR, it would appear to drive them. That’s often what happens in elite sports, same as a football derby day, the opposition lifts their game as a big “**** you” to their haters etc. Like I’ve said previously, going to be a long few years for the anti-RBR brigade, as they’re going to wipe the floor with everyone it would appear. They must be laughing behind closed doors. I know I would.

As previously posted:
Red Bull sold almost 10 billion cans of drink in 2021 (increase of 24% from 2020), I don't think anything they're doing across all the sports they're a part of is harming their brand.
:p

As Oscar Wilde once said - "There's only one thing in the world worse than being talked about, and that is not being talked about".

You’re right, it doesn’t affect them. And that’s a shame because they are bringing the sport into disrepute. It’s not just Lewis/Mercedes fanboys that are upset with them, and it’s certainly not just because they are winning. Mercedes never got this much vitriol when they were winning, because they did it the right way.

You say that confidently, but you might want to remember where Mercedes were at the beginning of the year compared to what positions they are fighting for now. If they continue on this trajectory they’ll easily be on the top two podiums next year. RB certainly got the jump on everyone this year with the new regs, but they’ve got less of an opportunity to do so again for next year.

You know if Horner and RB would just shut their mouths, things would instantly get better for Redbull. It's such a simple thing to do, yet they can't help themselves. If they literally did just the minimum and not rise to the bait, quickly giving a smile and moving on from interviews saying neutral stuff, people would probably be more accepting and move on. They really don't help themselves sometimes constantly making a mountain out of a molehill.
Think of Kimi Raikkonen. Said the least and was generally liked and respected. In this era, the more you say, the more can be turned against you.

Bwaaaahahahahahahahahaha!

Hamilton named honorary citizen and eight-time world champion in Brazil

So, are Red Bull going to boycott the Brazilian grand prix now?
I don't think that being a honorary citizen of a country with one of the worst track records in human rights, the then current president ignoring all the facts about covid resulting in the deaths of thousands, particularly and disproportionately black Brazilians, whilst also destroying the climate by deforestation of the rain forest, is something to be proud of?

They tired that during last race yet you lot still kept talking about them :p

But it's all very calculated and deliberate. Them doing that was making a statement to fight back against people "being nasty", which can be translated as telling the truth. If they wanted to not talk to Sky, they could have done it quietly. Instead, they told everyone loud and clear, ensuring everyone knew RB were/are butt hurt over people talking hard truths about them. Everything they do is calculated. By doing that, they get to focus attention away from the cost cap stuff and not answer questions on it, and try to get everyone talking about how they are victims again.

So what I should have said was they need to stfu and stop pulling their usual stunts/statements/general games. Just have a quiet week or two for once.

Agreed. Mercedes know what they need to fix for their 2023 car and unless they really screw it up, they’ll be fighting RB every race.

apart from none of that is true. They actually declined to comment when initially asked about it. RB and Horner were quiet but the press weren't.
and this cost cap stuff again...its amazing really. They had a huge press conference dedicated to the cost cap where journalists could and did ask any questions they wanted, but yet they are trying to hide it?

good one!

I wonder how much help it was seeing that Redbull hoisted up in the air by the crane earlier in the year when the floor channelling was exposed? I'm guessing it was Checo's but can't remember the race now.

Can‘t have hurt. No idea if the trackside photographers have any instructions regarding taking close up shots of normally concealed car parts, but I’d imagine the photographer that did capture “up skirt“ shots of Car X might have people waving money at him later to either get copies or have them erased.

There's no doubt that goes on. I would have thought it would be harder for a team to pay off all the exposure a view of a car gets, than the other way around. Imagine how many people took photos or footage. I suspect teams do employ people who's jobs are quite literally to spy within legal grounds on each team, and report back status of other teams etc. Dare I say it....perhaps each team even employs moles to work within rival teams subject to high amounts of pay to never speak. Imagining a Merc mole getting tortured by Helmut in a room now.... ;)

To be fair how many times have we heard Mercedes claim they knew what was wrong with the car and what needed fixed throughout 2022? They've still never managed it
Yeah, they said it a lot but also said it’ll take time to fix. (And will likely be next year). So the fact they are fighting for podiums already is a very good sign.

I can’t remember if it was the last race or a grid walk rerun I was watching on YT, but Adrian Newey was there standing right next to the Mercedes with a clipboard and pen :p It would be interesting to know what goes on under cloak and dagger though, I bet it happens…
