Ocon confirmed at Haas for 2025 (and beyond)

Doesn't seem like a good move for anyone involved, tbh. Well done to Ocon for securing his place on the grid for a while longer, but I think this will be a headache for the team soon enough, and Bearman could really do with a better team player as his partner in his rookie season.

Feels like we're just waiting on Sainz confirming where he's off to and then the rest of the grid will fall into place; with a list of drivers potentially waiting to find out if they have a seat including Antonelli (Merc), Schumacher (Alpine/Audi), Doohan (Alpine), Bottas (Williams), Lawson (RB), Ricciardo (RB) and of course Perez

This one?

Can Williams afford him?

I guess Sainz has secured more than the reported $12m he's on now, but I doubt he's managed to land a big lead driver salary. But, in any case, Williams have solid financial backing now which is looking to spend to build up the team before (probably) selling it on. Even if he's pulling $20m, I doubt it is troubling their bottom line.

That's probably it for Sargant's F1 career then? Certainly not the worst but never really seemed to make much progress.

I feel somewhat sorry for him this year. Yes, last year he struggled to find his feet, but this year he got booted out of his car after Albon dropped his, and then spent most of the rest of season running worse parts than his teammate. Hard to impress under those conditions, or feel like you have the support of the team. Now he's got the upgrades, I think he's been doing okay. Behind Albon but not embarrassingly so.

I expect he'll be off to IndyCar. I wish him luck there.

I wonder how different things would have been for him had he not lost the F3 crown to Piastri through no fault of his own? Would he have gone straight into F2? Had a better team behind him? Hard to say.

Sainz has confirmed he is going to Williams on a two year deal.

A strong vote of confidence for Williams, a vote of no-confidence for Sauber/Audi, and - at last - it means we have a decent comparator for Albon post-Red Bull.
I didn’t realise that the Audi ceo who decided to put them into F1 had also left. That coupled with the recent team management changes could point to all not being 100% with their impending entry.

I don’t think it’s a terrible move. Plus it must mean that Red Bull and Mercedes are relatively decided?..

I knew of the team staff changes (Seidl out, Binotto in) but nothing about the CEO change. When I saw Sainz had signed for Williams I thought the change of the management won't have made a good impression. Looks like Williams will have quite a good pairing next season. If Vowles can continue improving the team and they can build a decent car for 2025 then having two solid drivers able to bring points home could really pay off. Really Williams could only depend on Albon to get points and that would have hurt them in the constructor's table.
