I don't understand why a thread gets locked because someone has had enough of a particular topic (that is still ongoing). Just don't read it if you're not interested.

Pretty much. All joking aside, it gets a bit frustrating when the same arguments happen repeatedly, making it hard for someone like myself to contribute when several members are arguing about who is correct and neither of them can have any effect on the outcome of the on-track manoeuvre. I'm not aiming this at anyone in particular.Forum users aren't allowed to continue any discussion and must move on as soon as someone else choosing to read said posts gets fed up
For 'usually', read 'always'.The race threads usually get locked when the next race comes up

But what new discussion are you bringing? It feels like it's been done to death in the race thread.I don't understand why a thread gets locked because someone has had enough of a particular topic (that is still ongoing). Just don't read it if you're not interested.
McLaren have just lodged an appeal.
If the actual F1 team hasn't moved on from it, why should the discussion around it be stifled in a public forum...?

Queue a 50 page thread incoming!
That might be a good idea.Perhaps I'll bring in a hard rule and close the thread 48 hours after the race ends.
I think that would be fair.Perhaps I'll bring in a hard rule and close the thread 48 hours after the race ends.
it wouldn’t be a week in F1 without some comments from Helmut!

Why? The rules aren't changing.Mclaren have taken it to right of review, so will see if thats accepted based upon the new camera angles now released. Unlikely but would be good for the title race and for anyone trying to fight Max, he might actually have to attempt to take the corners now.
Why? The rules aren't changing.
They'll argue Lando was ahead, Max pushed him wide during his "overtake" and deserves a penalty.
Lando won't get theirs removed as they overtook Max off the track, but if Max gets one too then Lando goes to 3rd.
It’s worth a go. I didn’t even realise it showed Lando ahead in the timing screens in that screen grab someone posted. I bet there’s nothing concrete in the rules about when an overtake is completeI believe they are claiming that Lando had already overtaken Max, so Max gets a penalty for forcing another driver off track and/or leaving the track and gaining an advantage and Lando gets nothing because he was forced off.
It sets a precedent, if you can get ahead of max in a drs zone then he can't just brake so late he doesn't make the corner like he has done numerous times. More than likely it will lead to more rule changes, the max rule no 2...Why? The rules aren't changing.
Apparently he was ahead 0.015 which in my eyes isn't significant enough. It’s worth a go. I didn’t even realise it showed Lando ahead in the timing screens in that screen grab someone posted. I bet there’s nothing concrete in the rules about when an overtake is complete
