Mount & Blade 2: Bannerlord

Most people would be happy that their wife got captured,. You ungrateful sod. :p

Nah, we both have our own armies, get on with our own lives, not getting under each others feet etc. Perfect marriage, always happy to see one another.

It's the little stories that end up appearing like deciding to kill off the sturgians that makes me love this game. It's brilliant on it's own, but you can create your own narrative so easily, and without having to force anything.

Problem is, most my companions lost their armies, and now I need them to get going again.

Ok guys go download Voiceattack and Screamerlord...

Just had so much fun with it that I bought it. It's so immersive and easy to be voicing the commands and really adds to the experience! It's not perfect, but it's pretty damn good. Speak clearly.

Bannerlord devs REALLY need to add commands in the game to attack or defend specific sub-groups such as "Attack enemy archers" or "defend friendly archers" and stuff like that, because then it will really provide an amazing tactical experience. :)

I’ve been watching Pixelated Apollo’s play through on YouTube. He seems to be having so much fun I’ve gone out and bought the game.

I finally got married after like 7 attempts.
shes popped out 3 kids already :D

I took over a castle that only had 70 defenders with my 115man army, only about 20 survived.
someone got mad and set up a camp outside my castle so I talked to them and settled our differences for 50k :D

so I essentially bought a castle with force for 50k lol

can you imagine how awesome this game would be if it had the depth of crusader kings 2

Succession is planned when you turn on deaths (not implemented), and just give it time (or rather, give the modders time).

I barely scratched the surface for mods in MB, didn't need to, Native Expansion mod kept me playing for hundreds of hours. I can see the same thing happening here.

Latest update is a massive PITA as far as caravans are concerned, their party size has been reduced to 30 so they get attacked all the time now. I used to have 4 but now I just keep the one.

I recently found a really nice polearm that can be swung instead of just thrust, oh my days it's so much fun to use, literally hacks through enemies like a knife through butter.

Sometimes the enemy general will just come charging across the battlefield alone, it's so funny just one shotting them within 30 seconds of the battle starting :p

I created my character late yesterday just about to make some food then I’m ready to start my journey. Excited to say the least. Even the intro music gets me pumped.

Just reading all the notes of the new beta branch. Huge number of big patches, including a lot of fixes for sieges apparently. Downloading it now.

EDIT - Big CPU performance boost too apparently, not that I was having issues, but good news.

Tempted to try this as it can be bought for £30 off cdkeys.

I've never played the other game. how easy is it to pick up? Is there a hard learning curve?

There's the most basic of tutorials but that's it, no hand holding. Doesn't take long to get the grasp of it though, combat on horseback is the hardest thing to learn.

Go polearm would be my advice, it's considerably easier to use on horseback than anything else I've tried.

I was already thinking about giving up my caravans, use the companions for armies. Got plenty of cash at the moment, if I start losing any money, I'll start taking all the loot from fights, rather than just the food and top dollar stuff.

It's all about workshops for me now given caravans get ganked far too often. Not that money is a problem, I've got around 600K it's just annoying.

If you're just getting started, I'd go bow with one stack of arrows, then a polearm and shield, all on horseback.

I have noticed my caravans getting caught a few more times, I suspect it's because later in the game, the number of bandits are insane. I need more armies chasing them down.

Earlier someone was complaining about a faction attacking their caravans but not being at war. Was it Bin Zhalil (or similar)? If so, they're a minor clan of mercenaries. You may have annoyed them personally, and now they're attacking you back, but aren't officially a faction to declare war on.

Think I'm about halfway through wiping out Sturgian clans. Took a walk into their territory with a good army and chased a few individuals down, then met an army. Most annoying thing was their mercenaries, who had tons of horse archers. I hate horse archers.

Oh man there are some mods which have made such a big difference in quality of life and user friendliness, I highly recommend checking the ones out on the Reddit top mods list at least. I just had a great few hours playing as Southern Empire, starting from scratch again with said mods. I know it's early access but it's still better than many games I have played. Improving your skills at mounted combat is so damn satisfying and I am completely in love with couching a lance and getting a well aimed shot.

There is still so much potential for improvement with the battle combat system and AI that this game is surely going to be god damn legendary by the time it is finally done. When the LOTR mod arrives... holy crap I can just imagine leading the Rohirim into a massive charge against those filthy Uruks.

This game captures my imagination and is the closest to making me feel part of a battle that I can remember feeling. I do think it's worth turning the difficulty up as I don't like it when the Southern armies win too easily against the Asrai. I will try to play it enough so that I can get good at it but not enough to abuse and get sick of it. For the price of a few pints this will probably provide many, many hundreds of hours of gaming over its lifespan. :)

I didn’t stop playing until 1am.

I’ve just been travelling around joining Tournaments and doing village missions. I’ve picked up most of my gear from Tournament wins and have 25k do should probably purchase a workshop.

Slowly making my way up to Sturgia as that where my Character is from.
