Mountain Biking

Its been so long since ive been on my bike, maybe 10 months. Gave it a once over the other night nothing much wrong other than flat tyres. Not looking forward to the first ride out this week.

Just seen that, disappointing, however got to respect his decision, I had the feeling that his heart wasn't in it last year.
I do however look forward to seeing edits and such.

Replacing my existing XC bike with a 2017 Scott Scale. Should turn up next week. First carbon frame for me, anything I need to be aware of?

Decided to spoil myself for my 40th with a 2017 Whyte 905, as my old GT Chucker XS1 has seen far better days :D

you can squash and damage the top tube.

Proper method is to clamp on the seat post. If your seatpost isn't long enough, use a long seatpost.

Pretty much after doing the same and being told ^^^ this ^^^ by quite a few people

Top tube is too big on my Bronson now anyways but seatpost all the way for me

Whoever does that must be hamfisted dwarf.

So I should take my stealth reverb out, replace with a longer seatpost everytime I need to clamp the bike

Where's the like button in this place? :)

:D +1

i just clamp the reverb.

again not hamfistedly and always with a clean shaft (giggidy).

Indeed

I have enough post length, even with a stealth reverb.

Again, indeed

And the ninja tools

Start off like so

Little twist of the shaft :matron: and you get a bulbous end :matron: :matron: to wedge in the hollow of the bars ala

New grips fitted flush (needed a bit of teaking when the ninja was inserted)

Kept the SC clamp at one end and the SRAM at the other

Bit of tweaking with the collar to keep the Ninja in place but still extractable

And all is good

There is a chain pin store and all in all very nice piece of kit, but take some time tweaking during the install

I may also but a small elastic band around the "third hand" as the fixing to the tool isn't the best, but that's my only gripe :)
