Mountain Biking

Sadly not, it won't hold anymore than 90psi and it was bubbling from the seal. Not sure whether to ride it still, at 90psi or just not risk it and get a hire bike..

You'll be glad to know it's soaking down here too. :)

Also, gents - where is this trail and has anyone got any details? Its near Askham apparently, I found it when I Googled 'Mountain bike trails Whinfell' and was led to this image plus a link to a streetmap page:-

Map Details

Looks stunning. Any info on it would be appreciated, I'm off to Centre Parcs, Whinfell on Monday and I'm hoping to get a day to myself to go ride some nearby trails.

I'd swear that's High Cup Nick. Looks like it and can't think of anywhere else that looks like it. Part of the Pennine way (popular with walkers)... I'm sure I've seen people cycling there.

What I would do is drive towards Appleby (back East along the A66) and go to Dufton, a little village a few miles down the road from Appleby (might be several). You can park next to the public toilets there. From there, ride back through the village (towards Appleby)...actually you'd probably turn left near Crackenthorpe, from Centre Parcs, so maybe wouldn't go all the way to Appleby... Anyway - head out towards appleby and just before you leave the village there's a public footpath (may be a bridleway, think it is, actually) - that heads downwards (downhill) - follow that for a few miles up a complete arse of a hill and you'll get to that viewpoint :)

OS Map - not sure what the pink line represents... seen plenty of people on bikes up there though...

If you fancied a little off piste and climbing over a drystone wall, you could head from there to Murton Pike and down the path that comes down from it (fun little descent)... Not sure what the terrain between the two would be like though... wet and boggy and not much fun, perhaps.

Then cycle back along the road to Dufton and stop at the Buck inn for some light refreshment.

Hot damn my weird double post, quoted myself instead of edit :-/

Was tired as me lad woke me up at around 2:30am throwing up :-(

Gave my mega a once over checking every nut and bolt, also had time to bleed the reverb.

Bleeding a reverb stealth is a little more time consuming and awkward than bleeding a non stealth as you have to remove the post and try and balance/position it in a certain way to access the bleed screw. It went rather well indeed, the oil that came out was like a dehydrated urine yellow where as the fluid i got in the kit was a rose wine colour, not sure why.

The post was struggling to go back down once up, it took some force and movement from my arse to get it down. Now its working 100% fine for now.

It was by far a lot easier than bleeding the elixirs.

All in preperation for bike park wales next sunday whhoop whoop. Might invest in some elbow pads but need to try em on as my gunz are swole

I have some medium (I think) fox launch pro elbow pads that I bought with the knee pads and have never worn them, even when I went to PBW. If you want I can send them to you to try as they have been sat in a drawer for the last 1.5 years?

What are some decent level of protection knee pads that are comfortable for pedalling in for several hours?

I was wearing Smiths Scabs (skating pads) and they're completely unsuitable for bikes.

I run 661 knee pads and have had no issues!

Hope all who went to BPW had a good time, weather got better and I would have come along but had work to do :(
