Terrible loss of an intelligent MP.
I hadn't actually heard of her before her death.I suppose that makes me a terrible person.
Any news on the passerby who tried to save her? A 77 year old man who got stabbed in the liver for his trouble.

Terrible loss of an intelligent MP.
The fact that these are a regular occurrence suggests that there are a lot of people with strong feelings of hate towards people with a position in politics or with certain political views.
A lot of them will be idle morons with nothing better to but sit behind a keyboard and dish out abuse but every so often, you just might get one who takes it into the real world.

I doubt more than 2 or 3 out of 10 people here in north Shropshire could tell you who their MP is, especially if they were under 30 years of age.

Tenants in a local pub hadn't even heard of his name when I told them who their MP was.

Stabilised and out of hospital according to Radio 4 news![]()
He is being praised a lot on social media and so a few newspapers have started praising him. I think there is a petition to give him a medal.
That the Tories has said they will not contest the election for a new MP is an affront to democracy.
I never really understood that whole mentality.
Who has the time to go online and abuse/threaten an MP? I trolled David Cameron face book page a couple times posting dumb ****.
I just don't care enough to log on and threaten to kill someone....
Some of the stuff I have seen this week is really sinister, way beyond the realms of a keyboard warrior.
What is ridiculous is how her death has been used to pause the referendum campaigning, debate and discussion. That parliament was recalled yesterday regarding her death was bizarre.
That the Tories has said they will not contest the election for a new MP is an affront to democracy. It is for decent individuals to insist that acts of violence and aggression do not interfere with the working of our democracy, or else the aggressors have won.
In 1990, when Ian Gow was murdered by the IRA scum, parliament was not recalled. Liberal Democrat David Bellotti also contested the election for the seat, and won it.
There's a very nasty streak just below our so called 'civilised society'.
The shameful part is, all the other politicians now using this as ammo to reinforce the 'stay in' argument. It's sickening. I'm vote leave personally. But seeing how these pigs are USING this poor womans death as a chip to play in politics really should be a criminal defence...
****ing scum.
I'm not sure using someone's death to push a cause they were passionate about in life is actually very shameful at all.
Referencing a different issue, but anyway:
