Mine says PCIe Gen. 3 x 4 so I was wondering if it's a firmware issue with the motherboard (yours may have an earlier/later version) or something else.

Have you got gen 4 on in bios

This would be first port of call to check. Into BIOS, then Settings -> Advanced -> PCI Subsystem Settings, IIRC.

Yep, manually set to Gen 4 rather than Auto and it's the same. Samsung Magician has 'Using Host Memory Buffer (HMB)' underneath the Interface text which looks to be a good thing but maybe this time it's not?

You definately got the 980 pro not just the 980 mate as 980 is gen 3

Good call! It's a pre-build (would normally build myself but was the only way to get a 30 series card!) and it turns out they've installed the wrong 980. That's annoying! Thanks for figuring it out, was driving me nuts!

I only found out there was a 980 gen 3 by accident the other day i thought wow thats cheap ill grab one then realised it was gen 3 anyway glad to help you and at least you wont waste your weekend trying to problem solve now

haha, I just assumed they had put the drive I asked for in, I can see in their invoice it just says 980 1TB even though the quote is 980 pro. I expect they will argue that I will need to pay more to swap it out never mind having to spend time cloning across all my data. AArrrgh.

So I'm returning the drive for a refund. To be fair they did only charge me for the non-pro version and it looks to be an honest mistake in the quoting to invoice process so while it's annoying it's hardly the end of the world. I'll get a 980 pro and clone the drive then send this one back for a refund. Glad that Alex H figured it out otherwise I'd still be here flashing the BIOS and installing random chipset drivers etc.

Has anybody heard or seen when the Agesa 1.2.0.2 BIOS is being released for this board ?

I keep an eye on the MSI download page but wondered if anyone had seen anything about timescales ?

Getting bored of USB issues with my Reverb G2 !

Now is a good time to shop around for the Pro version. They've been on a special offer over the last week and at the time of this post the offer is still good for another four days

Keep an eye on the Godlike or Unify support pages as the Tommy usually gets the update a couple of weeks after those.

To clarify it's being put under 1.2.0.1 Patch A. 1.2.0.2 isn't actually being rolled out even though they said it would.
