Early morning FPV around Knowlton Church ruins. Fantastic place!

I set gopro to take photo every 5 seconds.. when it takes photo I lose FPV feed for 1/2 second, but it's quite handy to know when you have taken shot. Any faster than 5 second intervals and you feel a bit ill in goggles :)

Got some nice video footage also circling church.. gimbal did a great job, I'll see if I can get it on youtube later
 
Thanks :). Here is a full res of the panorama.. gopro ain't the best of quality but it's not bad. Need to get a polarizing filter for it to get rid of flare.

edit: I just noticed two of the images in pan don't line up oops. It's a shame as soon as you remove fish eye the sharpness goes also, time to buy a Sony NEX5 or similar :(

Yes I'm using 10 second intervals... gives you plenty of time to line up shots but I was a bit nervous about the FPV feed being lost at first!
 
I'll try 10, maybe that's better, good thinking!. If ever the gopro for some reason locks up I can switch to fixed FPV camera via video switcher, but it never has and not used the fixed camera for months

I do find that the GoPro live out is nowhere near as good quality as the CCD camera I'd been using before. I might have to look at using a video switcher myself.

I find the opposite the video feed from gopro is tons nicer than output of CCD FPV camera...it could be mine is faulty though as I heated it up too much with hot glue when mounting doh!

I think mine's a PZ0420H (got if from SecurityCamera2000) - the GoPro out is definitely not as nice as that is (I spent a fair bit of time tuning the settings to my liking).
 
My Oculus Rift DK2 turned up yesterday so I will shortly be building a setup to use it for FPV. I already have a program that will take a camera input and present it in a format that the Rift will display properly: https://developer.oculusvr.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=28&t=11001

I've tested it with a webcam and the quality is fine. I need to rig up my USB capture card with a 5.8GHz receiver and then we're good to go for 2D viewing.
Ultimately I will rig up an Arduino board to send PWM signals from the head tracker to the trainer port on my Taranis. I can then stick a 2-axis servo gimbal on the S800 and I'll have head tracking.
3D is going to be a bit more tricky. There are off-the-shelf systems that can do what I want (with head tracking support for the Rift built in) but they are super expensive. I will probably try and modify the source for one of the viewer projects to take two inputs, one for each eye.

Anyway, it's all going to be good fun. 110 degree FoV is very nice.
