Quick flight on the way home to catch the last race

I'm leaning back towards getting the Spark now. Has anyone in this thread got one yet? I'd have to go for the Fly More packages, but tbf it's half the price still of the Mavic Fly More, which just seems like a good idea for a beginner. I have no doubt the Mavic is a better device, but to see how much I use it and just have a play, the Spark seems the better option.

The Spark itself is back in stock at John Lewis, just need to wait for the Fly More to come back in stock! (Shame, as I'm itching to go buy it now!)

I'm in exactly the same position almost bit and bought yesterday but have decided to wait for the fly more package to come in stock a couple of weeks or so I believe? Noticed quite a few on eBay but I'd rather buy from Amazon or JL etc.

Only ok'ish picture I took with my Phantom 3S before returning it and getting a Mavic, since then its been gale force winds in Scotland so not had a chance to play with it yet. Have updated it twice so that's something eh.

What've you lot done when it comes to disposing of your old LiPo batteries?

I've a bunch of old 3S 8000 mAh ones that are puffed / one has a dead cell so thinking I might just get rid but want to do it right!

I can see the temptation to fly in a city - the pictures could be stunning. But you really can't - it isn't allowed unless you're licensed and commercial. I'm sure there are plenty of restrictions still after that - no idea what they are though. I'm sure some people look at drones like the Mavic and think that there's no real risk. But I guess a drone falling out of the sky has pretty much the same effect as somebody walking up behind you and throwing one at you at point blank range.

Hopefully people will settle down and learn before they become over-regulated. I know I've leaned an enormous amount in the past 6 months or so, and I'm certainly a much safer operator now.

its so easy to potentially do this when your up in the air too.

I have taken of from my garden in my built up area and gone of for a few miles and returned, i have also broken the 120meter rule in places its all so easy. However i wouldn't fly it over a town etc

I've been using iMovie but just upgraded to Final Cut Pro. Quite a steep learning curve, but there are plenty of tutorials out there and the interface is pretty similar. It seems as complex as you want to make it.

So I was in Brent Cross today, thought I'd pop in John Lewis on the off chance they had a Spark Fly More. 'Sorry, we don't sell drones, you probably need to use online.... except I think we got delivered a couple by mistake and have put them in clearance. Let me check'. 5 minutes later he comes back with a Mavic Pro Fly More with £300 knocked off, simply because they weren't supposed to receive it! How can I say no to £1,059!

I think there's another if anyone is looking. You might have to ask though, it wasn't with their other tech clearance lines.

Use your charger to discharge them, then when that's done use the nicd or nimh option or whatever to discharge a bit more (keep an eye on it and the temp), then either solder the ends together when it's reading zero or dispose of it safely.

Do NOT just chuck it in a bin, the poor dustbin truck will have smoke billowing out the back of it

Epic result mate

Thanks guys. As I think I said, I was going to go Spark, but how could I not buy it at that price! 3 batteries in total, cool little carry bag, spare blades, multi charger (seems to only charge one battery at a time? I assume when one is full it moves on to charge the next?) At least one still there I believe if anyone else is looking!

Took ages to do an update, but then took it up for a quick spin. Not an ideal location, so basically went up, had a look round, then came back down.

Did go up and down the yard area a couple of times, seems quite easy to fly. I look forward to heading out on the bike and trying it somewhere more suitable.

It seems to have recorded on the phone and only in 720p? Should I have an SD card in there somewhere? (Don't think it was mentioned in the quick start guide)
