Can anyone recommend a decent soldering iron, or if your American, a 'soddering' iron
Just realised I ordered our Phantom dual battery mount from HK by mistake so won't be here for 4 weeks . Everything else sorted though so will just have to stick with one battery for now and take it out this weekend.
When flying FPV, does anyone know the best way of keeping on top of battery levels? Obviously you can't see the Phantom's back LED which flashes red when low but is there a way of somehow making that visible to the FPV cam? Or do you just set a timer on your phone or something to start the return journey?

I would recommend setting a timer on your transmitter but you can't do that so you can do like you say and set a phone timer. The other option would be to solder in a battery alarm which would be an easy mod. The final option would be to buy an OSD, that'll overlay the data on your video. When flying FPV, does anyone know the best way of keeping on top of battery levels? Then she pays to replace them!
Why the hell would she do that?

Has anyone here done their BNUC-S with thought of providing professional services ?
Reason I ask is some press media company approached me about aerial footage, and without CAA approval is a no go
I looked at that... £1400 for the course and exams. Depends how much you expect to make from the commercial jobs and how much work you'd get. Not sure if GoPro footage would cut it for commercial work, either... I'll stick to flying for fun, I reckon!
yeah I think you're right... it's just a shame because on occasion you might be able to make a little cash, and you know you can't legally do it
Awesome! Well if you are happy for me to head over at some time for a look at some point in the future that would be massively appreciated!I live in Bristol and we've got the Fatshark Predator v2 .
Think I'm going to have to eyeball 4S, the 980s are clearly the more popular choice. I'm surprised at the price of them really, as cheap as the NTMs but without any of the quality issues!I've got the X2212-13 980Kv motors on my TBS Discovery, they're fantastic and really smooth with a fair amount of grunt. I get about 16 mins flight time on a 4S 4000mAh with 9x5 Carbon blades too so they're pretty frugal too (AUW is ~1.5kg), that's at the almost falling out of the air point though so 12-14 mins safely.
Isn't that what Rilot is doing?Has anyone here done their BNUC-S with thought of providing professional services ?
